Snow is falling, the temperatures have dropped, and it's time for the Winter Festival! Come one, come all!
Though held in the past, this year's Festival will be a little different than previously. Here's how it will go:
Every day for 12 days, I will post a challenge here. You have until December 31st to complete any and all challenges you want. Each challenge will have a prize associated with it, and if you complete all 12 challenges then you get a bonus prize!
Here's how you participate:
Post here ONCE PER PLAYER. While you may complete each challenge with any character, only each player may receive the prizes.
As you complete each challenge edit your post with links to the post that completes the challenges. I'll check it and edit your post in turn to note that I've seen it. Then you have your prize!
The post immediately following this will be an example of how it should look.
You can post wherever in the Winter Fairgrounds section that you want, including this one. You can interact with others, or post solo entries, as you desire or as the Challenge requires. You could set up a single long thread where you complete each challenge in it if you want! Just remember to do as the Challenge asks, and have fun!
Challenge One: It's wintertime! Snow is falling thick over Haven Weyr and glittering in both the sunlight and the moonlight. How do you enjoy the snow? (Prize: 25 BP)
Challenge Two: If anyone it going out into the cold weather it's a good idea to dress warmly. But there's a certain article of attire that has gained quite a bit of notoriety in the holiday season: the Ugly Sweater! Describe your character in an Ugly Sweater and what activity they do while wearing it. (Prize: 1 Prismatic Crystal)
Challenge Three: The Holidays are about giving to others, not just gifts but time and caring even for those that you may not even know. Show your character being charitable to someone they don't know. (Prize: 1 Aeon's Kiss)
Challenge Four: There is an inherent magic in the holidays. It is a time that seems to believe anything is possible. What wintery miracle does your character experience? (Prize: 1 Arcane Script)
Challenge Five: The Bakery is churning out sweet goodies by the dozen! So get decorating! Cookies, cupcakes, cakes, whatever strikes your fancy! (Prize: Runic Gizzard Stone of choice, please note which you prefer in your post here.)
Challenge Six: The holidays bring out the creative side in many people. Some make ornaments, some make gifts for friends, some make jewelry, some make paper snowflakes, some just get paper and glitter and glue and go crazy! What craft does your character do for the season? (Prize: A Seasonal Star (Winter) - for those who don't know, a Seasonal Star can grant an already existing creature or one claimed in the Shrine a winter or winter holiday motif instead of whatever they could usually have.)
Challenge Seven: Blame the IF, blame the weather, but a HUGE blizzard has swept through Haven Territory! What does your character do to ride it out and not go crazy? (Prize: 10 BP)
Challenge Eight: Well, the blizzard may have died down, but the Holidays are still on a roll! And YOU just received a Secret Santa gift! What is it, and what do you do to try and find out who sent it, if you hunt for them? (Prize: 10BP)
Challenge Nine: With the temperature dropping and the days being so short, it's nice to huddle up indoors when the sun vanishes below the horizon and stay warm. What does your character do in the evening when it's cold and snowing outside? (Prize: 1 Blue or Red Mushroom; player's choice)
Challenge Ten: The aurora is a breathtaking sight to see, dancing waves of color in the skies high overhead. But when it's accompanied by beautiful if strange melody and fleeting shadows it begs for investigation. What does your character find beneath the northern lights? (Prize: 1 Bone Talisman)
Challenge Eleven: The Toy Shop is having a toy drive, collecting toys, coats, gloves, hats, and other such things for children in need. What kind of toys and other donatables does your character provide? Self-made items are permitted. (Prize: 10 BP)
Challenge Twelve: The decorations are up, the baking is completed, and after a peaceful night of rest with stars glittering overhead and a fire crackling in the fireplace (and other classic holiday scenes of your choosing) morning has come! What holiday delights does your character find left behind by Aeon in their home? (Prize: 3-Star Creature Voucher
