Various Terms:
PC - Player Character (Your characters)
NPC - Non Player Character (minor characters that flesh out the world and story)
OOC - Out of Character (typically a post or comment at the end or beginning of a post noted in some way as OOC)
IC - In Character (speaking and acting as your characters)
Note: All Proboards Guidelines and Rules are to be followed.
ACCOUNT RULES:
*1 Account per Person
*Valid, Active Email (for Communication Purposes)
*Follow all Proboards and Sundered Weyr Rules
*No sexuality of any sort is permitted (displays of affection - hugging, kissing, embracing, etc - are allowed but Admins reserve the right to determine if things cross the line)
*Sundered Weyr is rated PG 13. Admins reserve the right to investigate alerts of threads/topics that break that rating and take appropriate action if deemed necessary.
CHARACTER RULES:
*Start with 2 Character slots; more slots are earned for every 75 In Character posts made (IE 3 characters in total@75; 4@150; 5@225;6@300;7@375;8@450...)
*Requirements for a Player Character (PC):
*Able to interact with environment in some manner (communication [speech, telepathy, sign, etc], physical manipulation, etc)
*Be a minimum of 15 years of age or racial equivalent, and minimum 18 years of age or racial equivalent for characters in romantic relationships
-Racial Equivalent: Some races physically and mentally mature at different speeds (An android programmed with adult mentality is an adult at age 1, and Tolkein hobbits arent adult until they are 33 for example). Such characters are allowed, but must behave as a human of their age-equivalent and follow all other rules. Admins reserve the right to investigate any concerning behavior and take action if needed.
Upon creation, each character may redeem two stars of creatures at the Veiled Shrine, either 1 two-star or 2 one-star. Companions of greater rank than this can be obtained by the additional use of BP or Star Vouchers in tandem with the starting free two stars.
NPC RULES:
Defintion: NPC - a character whom isnt the main character but helps flesh out the Player Characters story, such as a parent, sibling, spouse/lover, or child.
NPCs may be any age in general, but must be minimum 18 years old to engage in a romantic relationship.
NPCs may Bond with specific requirements and restrictions to preserve the difference between NPC and PC and avoid abuse of the Character Slot Post Requirement:
POWERPLAYING AND GODMODING:
Be courteous to all other members
Keep Powerplaying and Godmoding to a bare minimum.
POWERPLAYING - when you control someone else's character, as well as your own, without the other person's permission.
Minor forms of Powerplaying are okay, such as when one character points at something or starts walking and talking, and presuming the other character looks/follows along. The other player always has the right to counter the action however.
GODMODING- When one plays a character that can never be destroyed, harmed, etc. The character, however, can hurt and/or kill the other characters without giving the other characters a chance.
This simply isnt very fun for anyone.
BONDING RULES:
Know all features and quirks of a species before deciding to host a Bonding for them!
You need at least 10 IC posts before you can run a small bonding, and 25 IC posts before you can run a large bonding.
Running a Short Bonding will award 5 SC+1 per PC participating and ½ for each NPC participating rounding down, and Long will be awarded 10SC+1 per Character participating and ½ for each NPC participating rounding down.
To Start a Bonding, PM Kay with the following:
Creature you wish to host for, or Mixed for multiple types in the same Bonding.
If it will be a Long or Short Bonding
If Long, are you looking to have a Queen or Lord rank in your bonding (Max for long is one Queen, one Junior Queen, and two Lords)
If there will be any Mutations, and what those may be. (Color/physical variations from the norm; these can be discussed at any point in Bonding process)
Any other details you may think are relevant.
SMALL BONDING - Max 3 creatures, 1 and 2 star only. If you require a 3 star (Lord) rank for your bonding, you must both tell an Admin this, and if they clear it also include another 1 or 2 star rank creature, for a total of 4 creatures.
LARGE BONDING - Must have Completed a Small Bonding before you can run a Large Bonding. Min 5 Creatures, Max 10 creatures, with Admins assigning ranks across the spectrum of the species requested. 3 Flex Slots are additionally allowed for more creatures (for a Max of 13 creatures), though if they are of Lord or Queen rank (3 to 5 star) you will have to provide a reason for wanting the extra high ranks. You are not required to use all the ranks, though in general you must use at least 3 commons in the bonding.
BLIND BONDING - These are where not even the Admins know what creatures are being offered. In this case the Bond Holder is assigned star counts rather than species ranks (saying you have three 1 star, two 2 star, etc).
Out of Kindness to others who many not be able to post quickly, please wait at least one week before updating. Since Bondings are only required to be updated every month, there is no need to hurry.
If these Guidelines need adjusting for a specific Bonding, they can be with Admin Permission.
Dragons, Unicorns, and Gryphons may only be bonded with Admin Permission, and never in a Blind Bonding.
Bonding Format: Please follow this format for a Bonding's start, so that all things will remain neat and tidy:
Intro Post, including any Bonding-specific rules in a separated section (Permitted other Bondeds present, how many characters per player may participate, etc)
(New Post) Creature Descriptions
1-3 Reserved Posts, if needed/desired
An example can be found here.
GENERAL BONDING HOSTING COURTESY:
Be on schedule with updates
Pay attention to Participants actions
When a Bond is made, IC RP the creature making the bond, then put an OOC note in Bold such as ((The Wild West Wind has Bonded to Raferties!)). This is so the Bonding doesnt get overlooked by the recipient.
If it happens that a shiny doesn't really take to any one person, they can instead go 'Wild,' simply meaning that they leave without bonding. Alternately, a single person may bond two or, very rarely, three shinies in a bonding.
Players have two weeks to claim the creature in an IC post (usually by giving the Bonded companion a name or acknowledging them by their name if pre-assigned), or the Bondholder may Wild the shiny or re-bond it at their discretion
Creatures that come pre-named will say so in their Database entries, or you can check with an Admin to be sure.
ADVENTURE RULES:
Adventures are much closer to a Bonding without the Shinies to Bond. There are stated rules, posting schedule, a generalized end time, and at the end a reward for those who participate. 1-4 BP, varying on how well everyone did, and how well they followed the rules, is typical. Sometimes these rewards may be more RP elements, such as magical items that your character will have from then on, and sometimes, rarely, creatures can be up for the offering but for the most part your characters will go in with no concept that any such reward awaits. The Adventure Holder also gets 10 BP +1 per participating character for hosting the thread. As in Bondings, when you post to join you are accepting the rules set forth by the Adventure Holder, and they have the right to request admin assistance should someone repeatedly break their rules.
CHASE RULES:
Anyone may host a chase, regardless of the number of IC posts they have.
Chases must be started by a PC shiny (in other words, one Bonded to a Player), though it can be any Character.
The Host and the Winner of the chase receive 10BP or 2SC for their effort (their choice) and all others receive 5BP or 1SC (their choice) for participating.
BONUS POINTS, SHOP COINS, AND STAR VOUCHERS:
These are the way that you can acquire Bondeds and items beyond Bondings and Adventures. All are earned through site participation.
BONUS POINTS (BP):
BP can be earned through general RP threads at a 3BP:1 IC Post ratio automatically awarded to the player (though mobile poses will require the Admin's to manually add the points through a flaw in the Plug-In), through the Enigma or Shamrock Pub Quiz, by completing Writing Challenges, through Adventures, by submitting a creature picture or site banner, and through Contests or Site Events. In general, a creature costs 5BP per star of its rank. BP also converts at a 5:1 ratio to Shop Coins.
SHOP COINS (SC):
SC can be earned through the Enigma/Shamrock Pub Quiz, Contests or Site Events, submitting a creature picture or site banner, and through hosting a Bonding. These can be used in Kalatis Rare Relics and Asphir's Worldly Wonders to purchase items to modify/customize your companions or give your characters an RP boost, or even get the rare Dream Creature, a Companion that is utterly designed by the creator unlike any other on site, a truly unique being.
STAR VOUCHERS:
Star Vouchers are earned by completing the Grab Bag Writing Challenges, in the Haven Enigma/Shamrock Pub Quiz, or as Contest Prizes. These count as payment for getting new creatures at the Shrine up to their stated value. (IE a 3 Star Voucher could get you up to 3 Stars worth of creatures in any manner you like). They can be broken for smaller purchases. (a 3 Star Voucher used for a 2 Star purchase would still have 1 Star valid on it.)
BREAKING THE RULES AND THE CONSEQUENCES:
Breaking a rule results in a Warning PM's by an Admin, with the offense stated as well as the rule it broke.
Three Warnings results in a 24-hour ban from the site.
Five Warnings results in Permanent Ban from the site.
All decisions regarding Warnings and consequences will be determined by the collective active Admin team.
PC - Player Character (Your characters)
NPC - Non Player Character (minor characters that flesh out the world and story)

NPCs may Bond with specific requirements and restrictions to preserve the difference between NPC and PC and avoid abuse of the Character Slot Post Requirement:
- NPCs may only Bond creatures of 3 Star or lower, except in the case of Dragons because there are always more candidates on the sands than just PCs.
- NPC Bondeds have a much more abbreviated Description than a PCs, typically consisting of a Fade, Mindspeech if applicable, a few descriptive adjectives and a bit on any noteworthy physical traits. You can find an example here in the Resources section.
