Oh. Jasper went alright. She went and popped her arm horribly back into place, but enough to make it functional. And then she took a leap right onto Odhran's back. Her good arm coming up around his neck. "Leave Nec alone you big bully!" She wasn't leaving Nec and Nec wasn't leaving her. They were two idiots in over their heads, but it would be fine...Possibly. Jasper wasn't about to let this guy kill her friend. Not without a good fight to begin with. Maybe she should have shifted, but she didn't want to make the shoulder worse. So she was stuck with her own teeth and fingernails to try and do some damage.
It baceme a brawl between the buildings. Jasper was on his back, Nec was in his face, Odhran was trying yo shake Jasper but her fingers were sharp even if they didn't penetrate his skin. She would need to mind his horns since he'd changed before catching up to them. She'd also find his skin much harder and unyielding than Nec's. This was a true changeling, and in this form full troll with none of Nec's weaknesses.
Nec snapped at him, teeth clacking but missing and Odhran grinning, eyes wild. Nec had grabbed a wrist and the front of his tunic, hoping to wrestle him down but the bastard was too strong! "Eyes!" He hoped she got the message and was able.
I am coming!
Odhran swiped at Jasper, free arm coming over his shoulder but he focused on Nec the most, finally getting a hold and shoved him hard against a wall, pinning him by his throat. "You are nothing but a waste! AAARH! Get off me, cat!!" An elbow came back and caught her in the ribs, or maybe it was her arm, either way the result was she got knocked OFF and Odhran could step on her!!
The knife was back and at Nec's throat this time, but he only snarled at Odhran since he couldn't talk, what with his windpipe being almost clamped off. Instead he'd kick, talons scraping skin but not doing much, and he couldn't even scream when the knife was stuck in his shoulder, only writhe and twitch!
"Don't worry, I'll let you live, just need you to pass out so you can have the pleasure of waking up to your friend's mangled corpse!"
Jasper tried to go for the eyes, but couldn't get a firm enough hold on him to accomplish that. A howl of frustration and pain echoed in the air as she fell to the ground. A dragon roared off in the distance, not Nec's though, but a dragon he would still be familiar with all the same. Rissi had picked up on Apo's agitation and unlike the younger dragon, she could fly. She just didn't know where Nec and Jasper were and had to be a bit slow about it.
Not that Jasper thought a dragon would scare off this guy. "Nec!" Grabbing the flashlight, she aimed it right for his eyes and turned it on. If he had any sort of night vision like her, that high powered beam was going to hurt! Not really waiting to see if it worked of not, it finally clicked that he would leave Nec alone and go after her. "Gotta catch me first you old pea hen!" And tossing the heavy object at his head, she would spare a glance to Nec and a whispered 'I'm sorry'. He would see the fear and resignation in her eyes as she turned to run. Cause she remembered when Nec had found her half dead. Knew his reaction then and could guess his reaction if he found her dead.
"And you better make it good, he has a iron clad stomach."
Nec kicked as hard a she could, lungs screaming for oxygen and brain panicking at the uncomfortable memory of something like that happening before! Jasper bloody and half dead and NO!!!
All Rissi would get from Apo was a scrambled 'village', but he wasn't familiar, and his rider was uncertain beyond 'seaside'.
Growling, Odhran kicked after Jasper when he missed his chance to step on her. "Or maybe I'll have a little fun with your friend first, hm? She looks feist-AAAARGH!" The flashlight caught him face on, the bright light burning and forcing him to let go of Nec, who dropped to the ground in a bleeding, gasping heap. Odhran swiped blindly for her, missing completely and almost knocked off his feet by the projectile, but stayed standing, roaring. "I'll string you up first! You'll wish you were dead before I'm done!"
Nec did catch Jasper's look and whispered words from the ground and he went utterly cold. No! Please no, don't-- not again!! He couldn't deal with that! She shouldn't have to she was innocent! He watched her turn, and Odhran rub his eyes and catching the movement, all in slow motion and terror.
No
Not acceptable!
"NO!"
Nec lunged, fury and drenaline carrying him and a savage growl came when he caught a leg and bit! "Stay away from her!!"
Jasper paused as she heard that. Head turned to see what was happening. But she caught the look on odhrans face and her blood ran cold. Turning back, she started running. Nec would be fine. His father had made it very clear that he wanted nec to suffer. She had no doubt that he would keep his word there.
And the look in his eyes...she also had no doubt he would make her beg for the mercy of death before delivering it. Not that she was about to make it easy on him. Not by a long shot.
"AAAR! Damn abomination!" Odhran kicked and Nec refused to let go until one connected with his temple, knocking him half unconscious. As soon as he could, Odhran wrenched free and set off after Jasper. He was going to make her beg and make that freak watch!
"Gotta find me!" Jasper ran and scrambled up and over fences, trying to put some distance between her and him. Tripping, she skidded on the cobblestones. "Fuckkkkk...."
Odhran stopped to rub his eyes again, but hear a thud, did she fall? His sight was spotty but returning, though his night vision was gone for a while. Listening, he took off again in the direction of the sound, surprisingly silent.
Cobblestones, and a movement! Circling he hoped to get in front of her, he'd grab her out of nowhere, give her a scare before... things... The thought made him smile viciously.
Jasper scramble up, looking behind her for a moment and not seeing anything. Taking a few steps, she ran straight into Odhran's chest. A yelp escaped her as she looked up at him. "Shit." And she would promptly turn to run back, only to be stop short by him grabbing the back of her dress. This wasn't going well. Not going well at all.
"Shit indeed, cat." Odhran smiled as he turned her and grabbed both her arms, forcing her to face him. Very aware that this one would both kick and bite, he toom measures to avoid it. "You left the party a little early, I'm not done with either of you yet."
Damn. He was too far away for her to get at with her feet and she didn't want to kick with no shoes on anyway. "Wasn't really my scene you know. I like getting a bit drunk before my untimely demise and you didn't bring the alcohol." The grin she gave him was sharp even as there was fear in her eyes. "Do you worst you Old Pea Hen. Wouldn't be the first time." Gotta keep him talking. Or make him lose his cool so it would be over quick at least. She felt his fingers dig into her arms and knew he was going to leave bruises on them. Just meant she got to wear long sleeves for a little while.
"Not yet. I want to give that freak a chance to watch, he wasn't completely out cold when I left." He just chuckled at her insults and started back the way he came, forcing her along. "You're aware of who you call your friend, I hope? What he's done? He wasn't always this pathetic." The look he gave her was an odd one. Like he wanted her to ask, or wanted to tell, but at the same time liked keeping her in the dark but the worst part was probably that there was not a hint of deception. He wasn't lying!
Screw her heels. She wasn't walking back to her death and thus let him drag her by her arms. Fuck him. "Oh nooooo! My best friend has killed people?" She snorted and shook her head. "Or maybe he has eaten people before? Killed children? I'm not under an illusion he is a hundred percent good person. He was a good person to me and that is all that matters. I don't think there is anything you can say to me that would make me think of him any differently you old pea hen."
That actually got her a slightly surprised look, though Odhran was more surprised at her loyalty than that she knew. Chances were she knew some of it after all.
"I told you to let her go."
Tables turned, it was Nec's turn to pop out of the dark, and yep, he probably looked like someone's nightmare. Something spiky, angry, smelling of blood and dripping with it too suddenly stepping out of the shadows along with a savage growl?
" Your thing is with me, 'father', are you too much of a coward to face me without some security?"
Jasper laughed at that. She couldn't help herself. "If this guy thinks I make a good body guard, I think he has more than a few screws loose." She then went dead weight, hoping to surprise him into letting her go so she could scramble off. And even if it didn't work...Well, she was going to at least be a hindrance. "I mean. The only thing I guard well is what little sanity I have left."
