"Death by tomato soup. Pff, yeah, you'd forever be known as the tomato cat!" Nec didn't particularly like tomato soup, but he'd eat it if he had to. "And what is that supposed to mean?? What--?" Laughing Nec shook his head, Kitty had his kind of humor! "Might be worth it though, I think you'd look good with short hair too." He shrugged and followed her. He didn't need a shower but some water in his face would be nice, the soup was already drying and making his face stiff!
"What, you don't believe me?" All smooth again he smirked at her. "All part of my plan to make you have to see me again, now I can still use that reincheck."
"Nope. Not one iota." Slipping into a building, she turned to hide the blush in her cheeks. Not that he could see it through all the tomato on her face. The place was one big giant bathroom. Sinks on end and showers on the other. "Huh. No stalls today." Ever few feet there was a shower head though, going into a u-shape. Just to the right of the entrance, there was normally a dryer and a washer, but it wasn't here today. The laundry soap was though.
To the left was some lockers and a few benches for people to get dressed and undressed. Cause in true illogical fashion, the door was glass but didn't show anything. Heading towards the right, Jasper grabbed some of the laundry soap. Going to the first shower head, she started stripping.
"Though if you wanted to see me again, all you had to do was ask you know. The river dunking wasn't necessary."
"Rude, I never lie." Pfff, riiiight. But actually not so much here, he didn't have much need to to be honest.
Huh, had the shower house moved? Nec could've sworn it was on the other side of town a couple of weeks ago... And of course things were normal inside either, but at least the sinks were still there, so Nec headed over to one while Jasper-- okay! Just started stripping just like that okay that's fine he could... wash his face for tomato soup. With his back turned.
"Yeah okay, I'll remember that. Didn't you say you had a day off in a few days? Wanna meet up if I promise no dunking?" He scrubbed his face and wiped a bit with a damp paper towel on his shirt, keeping his back to wherever Jasper was.
She turned her head, barely suppressing the giggle that threatened to escape her. Nec still couldn't quiet handle her disregard for public nudity. Turning on the shower head, she let it beat at her back as she scrubbed her clothing first. Moving them over to the other side to dry, she then started on her hair. It was sticky and gloopy and oh! She was gonna skin him as she attempt to scrub it out.
"Nec..." Her voice was a growl before she shook her head. "And yeah. I do. On the condition you do promise no more dunking. This tomato soup is proving difficult to scrub out."
Uh oh, what was that growling of his name? "Yeah? And I just promised, didn't I?" Shit had he promised to help her too with the hair thing? "You um... need ny help?" He could do it with his eyes closed, right? Even if she didn't care, he did! Not that he minded looking but it had been ingrained in him that you just didn't outside of certain activities. "Again, I promise no more dunking, and if you--" Oh wait, that was before. "I keep my promises."
"Help would be nice. If you can do it." She turned her head towards him a sly grin on her face. "If not, don't worry about it. It just will take a lot of scrubbing and time. That's all." One scrub done, she started on another. "And consider the meeting done and set. I know you do." The last part was said quietly as she rubbed the soup into her hair. It was easier to get the soup off of skin than hair apparently. Good to know.
"'Course I can do it" he muttered, turning and heading over to her while looking at anything else. Plus, nobody else was there, and it was his fault anyway (though it had been hilarious, no regrets).
"Alright deal. Meet up by the bakery? Around noon?" Taking some hair Nec thought for a moment, how to best scrub it? She was right, it was oddly sticky for to to soup. Eventually he just rubbed it between his hands, hoping his stony skin wouldn't damage it, and ut seemed to be working!
She winced a little bit, but didn't let him see it. He was tugging and tangling it, but she could see the soup coming lose a lot faster now. "Deal. I look forward to a dunk free meeting with you then Nec." When she didn't see any more orange, she tugged it away from him. "I think one more rinse and it should be good to go."
Turning her face towards him, she would give him a smile. "You can go now before your head explodes from all the blood rushing to it." And then that tongue would come out to stick at him before she went to go rinse out this latest round of soup and soap.
Nec had just returned the gesture before turning to leave, confirming their meet-up and giving a wave. Apo had been quiet until he left but Nec had definitely herd the snicker from the dragon in his mind. "I am not a prude" He'd grumbled to himself while making his way back to Raf's library.
Two days later he was early to the bakery, hoping to catch a good table. The weather was nice so sitting outside was popular, but he got a table a on the edge which was perfect. A bun too, the savory one he'd had on his second day here, but that one was already gone. No coffee at least, that would be rude. So for now he was lounging on the chair, long legs stretched out in front and relaxed. Dressed as usual he was nothing fancy, just the green kilt and a black shirt. No jacket necessary with the weather, and there he st while waiting.
Jasper was taking her time getting to the bakery. She even woke up early so she could take the longer way there. It was a nice day out. The sun was shining. It was warm enough without being too hot and there was nothing pressing she had to do today. Spotting the bakery, she picked up her pace just a little bit. Blue caught her eyes and she noticed Nec had picked an outside table.
Moving quietly now, she would attempt to sneak up behind him, leaning over to make her face appear above his head. "Hiya Nec!" She would jerk back just in case he decided to jump. She didn't want to get punched the face by those horns. "Did I keep you waiting long?"
Nec didn't jump, but he did get that mental jerk you sometimes get when surprised. "Hi Kitty. Yeah you did, I've been sitting here since last week!" Or half an hour, who knew, he just grinned at her and tipped his chair back on all four legs. "But I'm very patient."
The Bakery was the kind where you went and got your own food and drink, so when Kitty sat down, Nec stood. "So what kind of drinky stuff d'you want? Hungry?"
"I keep forgetting you really don't know me anymore." Settling her chin into her hand, she thought for a moment. "A mocha latte with extra mocha sounds really good. And something to eat would be nice. I'm constantly hungry." Despite the fact that she actually had some weight to her now and was getting multiple meals a day, old habits died very hard. "Do you need any help carrying anything Rocky?"
And him? Patient? That was true and untrue at the same time. It was hard to peg when he could be and when he couldn't be patient. That was still a mystery to her. "I could tell. Almost seemed like you fell asleep waiting for me there."
"Yeah... Sorry. But working on it as we speak!" Oh, that sounded-- not familiar but somehow correct? Always hungry. Huh. "Mocca latte, extra chocolate. Good choice." And he'd just pick some things to eat, though he'd had that bun he could still eat, he hadn't had breakfast after all. "Don't think so, but you should come rescue me if I'm more than fifteen minutes."
Disappearing inside, there were four people in front of him so he had time to decide. Waving at Anari who passed by, it was his turn and he placed his order, getting a tray. Her mocca , his regular black, another of the savory buns, two sandwiches and a piece of something that looked like rocks lide chocolate cake each, complete with caramel sauce. Nobody ever accused Nec of not having a sweet tooth.
It was a balance, but somehow it all went on the one tray. Probably because the bakery had large trays, smart move.
"I return." Playing butler he came up by her left side, but that's where it ended since he just put the whole tray on the table "Didn't remember what you liked so took some different things." Sitting back down Nec gave her a grin. "And have you noticed? No dunking!"
She would give him a thumbs up as he disappeared. So he was trying to remember still huh? Jasper couldn't believe he forgot in the first place! Then again, maybe something had happened on his way back home. A knock on the noggin. A spell like that memory one all those years ago. Blah. Magic.
Looking over as he laid the tray down, she let out a short bark of laughter. "Did you even leave anything for anyone else there Nec?" It honestly all looked so good too, as she took her mocha. Smelled good too as she took a big whiff of the the food. "And yeah. Yet. The date is still young." Claiming one of the sandwiches for her own, she started munching into it. "And I'm not a picky eater. As long as its food, I'll generally eat it."
A few more bites of her sandwich and then she tilted her head at Nec. "So what do you remember?"
"Yeah, two crackers and the bottom sludge in the coffee pot" he grinned back, picking up his coffee and took a sip. Chuckling he shook his head. "I know what I was like back then even if I don't remember, but these days a promise is a promise. I don't go back on them." Something he'd done more than once years ago, back then promised HD been a thing to get what he wanted and nothing else. Picking out the sandwich as well, Nec leaned back to tilt on the chair's back legs, watching her. "Yeah wasn't sure if you had any allergies but figured you'd tell me."
"Of you? Not much yet, but I'm getting flashes still. The puma, a tavern that looks real rustic, kinda like medieval?" He took a big bite of his sandwich and thought for a bit. "When you said you're always hungry that just felt familiar and them there's a dark forest." Frowning a bit he shook his head. "It's frustrating! I clearly know you. Knew you. But I can't remember shit!" What else had he forgotten?
