It had been during a recent flight with an old friend that Linah had been reminded of her old friends from Planet and Whazzit Weyrd (yes, it was weird). The reminiscing had inspired her to maybe make a trip soon to the Veiled Shrine, to see if Aeon might reunite her with maybe Ciabatta, or possibly Terciel. A new resurgence of watch whers made her think of ill-fated Linsk, and wondered where the poor creature had gotten to. And so it was that Linah urged Mialuth to bank around to the Shrine once again.
The golden dragon landed gracefully, for one of her rank, in the courtyard of what looked like a medieval castle that had been partially overtaken by a pizza parlor. There was a swimming pool out front, in which swam-
"Cory, is that you?!"
The Hyard had obviously become a Zaithand by way of world translation, but she'd recognize that troublemaker anywhere. He splashed his shark-like new tail at her playfully. Takes you long enough! We waits forEVER for yous show up.
"We?"
Nots forEVER, dumb-dumbs! Just...long. The new speaker was now a Dust Mistwatcher. He'd once been a Gold Shadowguard. Still canine, still hard to hurt, but he'd traded turning into a shadow for turning into a billow of dust. Linah smiled. She'd missed Valor so much her heart ached with it, and here he was, returned to her.
Is Scorch still at the Shamrock?
Linah laughed. Of course that was Ciabatta's first question.
"Yes. Yes, Scorch is at the Shamrock. Scorch will make you all the toast you want, Ciabatta, you just go ask."
So you have yourself a dragon. The now-Roc's mindvoice was as judgmental as ever. Forgive my disbelief. It seemed destined never to happen.
"Oh, you and me both, Tyrest. You're coming back too?"
Not yet no. I'm not yet adequately adjusted to this world. I need time. I may return to you, I may not.
"Fair enough."
Forget about me, though, how are you getting this hoard back to your home?
Linah looked around, seeing Pegasi, a Phoenix, Linsk the Watch Wher... oh, this was going to be a treat to get home. Thanks for the moral support, Tyrest.
Speaking of Tyrest, he just flew off, presumably to go find himself.
I am dropping 80 BP on buying Linah's shinies back from Whazzit, those such that can be translated, anyway. If I spent 85 I could have Tyrest too, but it seemed in-character for him to just leave for a while, and maybe come back later, maybe not. Some of these creatures will be mutants to match their former appearances just a little (we have winged cats, but no winged dogs!).
