The phoenix wasn't the only one waiting. Another, smaller and just as silent, was laying beneath one of those silver willows all but masked from view. She sighed, watching the Phoenix approach those that entered with determination. What was the point? She'd fled here after yet another unavoidable disaster (granted, not a terrible one overall, just a bucket of paint over the head, but still another one). Now here were people, a happy new meeting.

A new beginning. She'd long since given up on that for herself, happiness. But…

A soft breeze ruffled her fur. It seemed to be encouraging, and a tiny ember in her heart wondered if it dared to maybe hope….

Then another shiver made her entire body shudder from head to tail, and golden-yellow eyes widened, seeing nothing before them for a short moment. Then they focused again, and with trembling steps the sapphire-colored Astrum slipped out into view.

Don't take the main path back! she urged before she second-guessed her actions. I… I can show you a safer way back. Would they believe her? Would they follow her along the small trail she'd approached on, or go along the main path and take a tumble down a small rockslide? Was this a new start, or another futile attempt?

The Reluctant Prophet Female Event Horizon Astrum

Prophetic powers are for the birds! At least that's the opinion of this Astrum. Reluctant Prophet has heard from a young age how her abilities are powerful, meant for great things, able to change the fate of many and a responsibility she should consider an honor. Fluff all that nonsense, she says! It's nothing but a burden to her, and she loathes it with every fiber of her being. Perhaps it's because of how her prophetic powers work: she never seen things more than ten minutes in advance when she first lays eyes on a person. Only rarely are the visions good (though by all means they aren't always resulting in injury or any degree, just some of the time). She can't often do much about them because by the time she's explained things it's far too late to do anything and should she try to do something herself it's often too little effort; she is a small creature after all and there's only so much she can do. When she was a kitten she would often grow very frustrated or distraught by these events. Now… she's just done with it. Totally done with it. She has her visions - a recognizable event because she will shiver from nose to tail every time - but then usually immediately turns and walks away from the situation. Only if it seems to result in great harm or a threat of death will she do anything and that's usually calling out 'Hey, don't do X' with no more explanation. Perhaps with an attentive, or at least patient, Bonded she'll find her heart in her gift once again.

Like many Astrum of the Event Horizon rank, Reluctant Prophet has sleek fur colored a beautiful sapphire blue. From the back of her head down to the base of her tail is a single stripe about an inch wide, slightly tapering near her tail. Her golden-yellow eyes shift between looking tired and fed up, depending on how recent a vision has been, and only rarely seem truly happy. (Seriously, this girl needs some love!) Her icy-blue, feathered wings definitely give her a cold-themed appearance.
