As Bright and Glamorous as the Diamond Ring Male Solar Eclipse Gold Mottle Firelizard
One of the most spectacular moments of the eclipse is the formation of the Diamond Ring effect, a brilliant burst of light forming at one side of the moon like the gem on a heavenly ring, a very fashionable accessory for the event of an age. Just as breathtaking and fashionable! - is this gold mottle. A sweet, kind-hearted little queen, he also an undeniable fashionista with a flare for creating his own styles, experimenting with what goes with what, and of course offering his expert advice to anyone within empathic reach. Denying said advice will often send him into a fit of hissing and chattering at the continued faux pas, and telling him that he's committed such a grave error of fashion judgment is a guaranteed way to get a few firelizard scratches for your effort. He thinks bonding Linah was a perfect choice: the immortal's extensive experiences of many cultures and lifespan have opened so many doors for styles from ages past that the connection was irresistible! Hopefully Linah can handle the little fashionista flit's behavior and the fact that after this no one in the household not Linah, her other Bondeds, or Zhi will ever leave the house without looking their best ever again!
An elegant creature, this rare male queen is a lovely gold that holds a shimmer of midnight back from his Solar Eclipse mutation when the light strikes it directly and the white-blue-yellow glow that normally fuzzes his features over is absent for an hour or so every six to twelve. Gilded scales run along the edges of both wingbones and down his brow and muzzle like a glamorous faceplate. He has a wild gold dragon's ruffled wings that run down the length of his body, making him a very graceful flier, and whenever possible he adores wearing accessories of any kind! Especially headdresses and things that rest upon his forehead, where they get caught and glimmer in the light of the flare that rests there when his glow is muted.
A Perfect Groundskeeper Pegasus Goat Chinook Male, Jojo
A flutter of wings, a clicking of delicate hooves, certainly a pegasus come for a visit.
Baaa!
Ok, now hold on a minute here! Jojo certainly is a pegasus, but a pegasus quite unlike any other to be seen currently around the Weyr or the Village. Thjis is namely because Jojo is a Goat Pegasus. A Goat Chinook Pegasus to be exact! And he has quite a passion for being the ideal groundskeeper and ensuring the lawn of the Sleeping Shamrock looks absolutely immaculate! He has his rank's famed stubborn streak and often it is turned to the weeds that dare invade his domain; no matter how deep their roots he will dig and bite them out until they lay in a heap at his hooves! And he certainly never needs a lawnmower to keep the grass trim. Just about every day for an hour or so he goes along, nibbling here and there to make sure every blade is kept at the same level, and peruses through the shrubbery for stray leaves or twigs. Jojo can even make a very fine topiary if Linah requests it!
Jojo, to look at him, is typically goat-sized. So he stands about three feet tall at the shoulder give or take a few inches. Given this obviously he cannot carry an adult male around on his back as other Chinook pegasus can, though where he lacks in carrying capacity he more than makes up for in pulling capacity, able to tug along loads that would normally take a horse-based Chinook or even a Celestial Starmane to haul. If a child is small enough, he could carry them around, though for the most part it would be more practical to have them in a wagon to be towed.
As Chinooks show for their rank, Jojo has a technical 'Bald face' that starts as a point between his horns and flares out in a diamond shape to encircle his blue eyes, then runs straight down his muzzle to end in a point over his upper lip. Perhaps in a nod to his overall mutation as a Goat rather than a horse and his unique coloration, this face marking is almost a golden brown (rather than a horse's normal white) in sharp contrast with the darker near-black that covers most of his head and the rest of his body. When these hairs are let to grow out they tend to bleach in the sunlight to a cinnamon brown, and he has one white sock on his left foreleg. His horns are ivory white, though often stained with the dirt he pushes around in his gardening pursuits.
