Coloration: Varies with rank, usually bright and saturated except for the Emo rank, which is always darker shades.
Bonding Age: As soon as they burst out of their piles of glitter, though they may bond at any age.
-General Information-
At first glance they appear to be miniature neon colored ponies. As you get closer, you see they seem to be some sort of donkey with the head, feet and tail of a beaver. Though they can, and do, mindspeak often- they will often loudly bray like donkeys, sometimes even at the same time that they are holding a conversation in their heads. Quick to befriend others, including complete strangers, they often bond without the other party even being aware of it until they start talking about a million different things at once in their head. Often they will sleep in a giant pile with each other, even the Emo rank begrudgingly joining in.
All ranks create glitter from their fur, leaving sparkling trails behind them wherever they go, though thankfully it disappears after a few hours- otherwise being bonded to one would mean being covered in glitter at all times, and sometimes it still can be like that when they are around. They have the ability to create small illusions, though the type depends on their rank. They are also extremely magic resistant and heal nearly instantly when injured physically.
-Mating Information-
Equstor who feel like they want to have young will start to create even more glitter than they usually would, seeking out trees, rocks or anything else they can to slap their flat tails upon- creating a loud noise to attract others. Traditionally when only other Equstors arrive, they will hold a dance competition where the suitors will perform their own intricate dances, often leaving strange patterns in the grass that will confuse others. Once the leader of the chase decides on a winner, they will combine their glitter into a large pile and sleep near it for a week, afterwards a whole litter of young Equstors will burst forth from the glitter, immediately jumping around and having fun.
Oddly, an Equstor may cross-breed with any other species, as all that is required is for the other species to contribute something shiny to the pile of glitter, and through the strange magic of the Equstor hybrids will be created. They often pass on their bright colors, beaver tail, and ability to create glitter to any hybrid children.
-Bonding Information-
Though Equstor are ready to bond immediately after being 'born', they are often rather easily distracted and can be hard to attract for the first few weeks- they grow very quickly and are fully grown after only a month, and that is most often when the group of siblings will choose to hold their own "bonding" and gather as many potential bonds as possible; usually by obnoxiously leaving trails of special glitter from populated areas to wherever they decide to hold this bonding. Sometimes they will even infiltrate the populated area on their own and throw a party while they are at it!
Sometimes even unwilling participants find themselves bonded to a Equstor or two.
-Naming Information-
Equstor are born knowing their name and will tell their bond at the time of bonding. Their names are always compound names, ex. GlitterMane, LoveDance, etc.
-Ranks-
Rainbow 5*
Rainbow Equstor are always at least 5 colors, if not the full rainbow, usually fading from one to the next along their bodies- sometimes one set of colors on their main body while the rest show on their manes and tails. They are the most skilled in illusion magic, and can effect the largest area for the longest amount of time, and can do anything that any of the other ranks can do- even the Emo rank if they want, though unlike the other ranks they can make things change color as well. The are unique in that the glitter they produce is not individual colors, but has a holographic rainbow effect, and is in the shape of stars. They can create up to 15 foals at once!
Emo 4*
Emo Equstor are probably the most unique rank of all, being total opposites in appearance and usually in behavior- though there are the rare few who are dark in color but just as bright and excited in attitude. They are always either black or some dark shade of color on their bodies, with a different color for mane and tail, and only have black markings- usually restricted to their feet and face. They can only use illusion magic to make things seem darker than before, like sucking all the color out of things or even just creating an area of darkness. The "glitter" they produce is more like confetti, having no shine to it, and matches the colors of their body while being in the shape of an X. Though they are less likely to breed, they can produce up to 10 foals.
Sparkle 3*
Sparkle Equstor are the hoarders of the ranks, often collecting any shiny thing they can carry and bringing it back to their bond or home and stashing it- sometimes even stealing things, not really understanding that its not okay to do so unless bonded and explained to. They are always shades of blue, green and yellow with markings of the same colors- usually spotted or dappled. They use their illusion magic to make things shiny and glow, as if painting them with glitter, and it can make things quite gaudy to look at until the illusion has faded away. Their glitter always matches the colors on their body and is in the shape of a circle, and their rank tends to have the glitter that stays the longest before fading away. They can have up to 7 foals when breeding.
Friendship 2*
Friendship Equstor just want to make everyone around them happy, and make sure everyone gets along. They are the rank that will do the most to make their bond happy- even if they are sort of annoying with it, and they will become dejected for a short time if their help is said to be unwanted. They are always some combo of yellow, orange and pink, often having striped markings all over their body. They use their illusion magic to create copies of themselves- because who doesn't want more friends? At least the copies don't leave glitter trails like the original. Their glitter always matches the colors on their bodies and is in the shape of thin bars. They can have up to 5 foals at a time.
Heart 1*
Heart Equstor are always falling in love. Though their number one love is always their bonded, or sometimes another shiny in their bond family, they often profess their love for every new person or shiny they meet- even those who can't understand them. They also find it extremely fun to play matchmaker and will try to set their bonded up on dates whenever possible. They are always some combo of purple, pink and red- though they are the only rank that may also be pastel colors instead of always brightly saturated. They use their illusion magic to make the surroundings look like a scene from a romance comic or movie- floating hearts, petals, fuzzy vision.. Their glitter always matches their colors and as expected, is in the shape of hearts. They can have up to 3 foals.
