Now that Edrei had been around for a while and managed to get her hands on some coin, she was eager to find something to spend it on; Sylb had told her about this shop full of magical artifacts and by golly, was that right up her alley! Having left most things behind when she had been transported to Teragaia, the Roe felt as though she was missing a few things in life.. though specifics, she really couldn't tell you. It was easy to forget what sort of nifty trinkets you had stashed away in the bank for so long.
Still she had to satisfy that itch somewhere and this seemed the perfect place for it! Walking in with Sylb the Caradras at her heels, she oogled at everything she could see, spending quite some time window shopping- finally, having made a decision, she stepped forward to the counter.
"Ello! I'll take three of them Packaged Artifacts, and I think an upgrade for this old bow is in order, so I'll take the best I can get for the coin!" She said, digging into her pouch and counting out the fifty coins- a bit slowly, forgive her.
A flash, and suddenly it feels as if time has passed. Asphir sneezes. "Sorry about that. Illogical Field. Does things all the time. I'll get your longbow enchanted and I'll get you three boxes from the back!"
Asphir takes your bow and disappears into the back of his shop. There are flashing lights, some strange noises, awkward smells.
He comes back out and hands your bow back to you, smiling. "Here it is, shiny and like-new! Oh, and those boxes you wanted..."
Asphir sets three boxes on the counter. They're all the same size, about the size of a mailbox each, but you've lived under the Illogical Field long enough to know that the size of the box in no way indicates the size of the contents.
Infinite Flaming Longbow
This old longbow doesn't need arrows anymore. It now conjures its own when the string is pulled back to full draw. Infinite ammunition, just keep pulling the string until your arm falls off. Additionally, the bow now wreathes its wielder in flames...that protect its wielder from flames. Cool stuff, yeah? Not so much if you're trying to be stealthy, but great if your enemy is lobbing fireballs at you.
Unknowable Hearers' Leather Armor of the Beater
To wear this armor is to be able to listen in, unknown, to the conversations of others from some distance away. Unseen, unheard, undetected. That, however, is not the only perk. To wear this armor is also to be able to take a hit you didn't see coming without being mortally wounded.
What this armor looks like depends on the wishes of the wearer. Is it boiled leather? Chainmail? Full plate? A hoodie? What is it the wearer most desires?
Compassionate Strangler's Lyre
This is a well-maintained cherrywood lyre with gold inlay and golden strings. All told, a beautiful instrument that makes soft, sweet music when its strings are plucked.
The downside is that when the strings are plucked, it compels its player to pluck out a lullaby that makes those in the immediate vicinity forget how to breathe, and suffocate. If played for too long, the player of the lyre will suffer the same effect, leaving the lyre playing itself for a few hours before it finally stops playing its lethal lullaby for the dead.
Blowgun of the Evocation of Deflect Doors
A simple wooden blowgun, to the eye.
But when a dart is lined up with a door's lock and blown in, the door blows wide open, as if the door is utterly deflected. Useful in case of emergencies and heists, of course, thought the blowgun's limited range makes it less useful than a standard weapon for, well, weapon things. I'M SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG
Grand time to take a site hiatus, with this waiting on me. Here are your items, Birdie, and I hope you have some fun with them!
