And to think Asphir had been counting on another one of his innumerable slow days, expecting his door's jingly bells to remain silent as potential customers went around Worldly Wonders instead of in.

But the day mocked his expectations as not one, but three customers entered his shop!

"By Aeon, I might actually make rent with Kalatis and have enough left over for myself," the small Winged Elf declared, grinning ear to ear. "Tell you what, I'll get all y'all your boxes out of the back first, because that's going to be easier, and then I'll get to crafting that flintlock for our friend here, which is going to take some time and resources. Be right back."

Asphir disappeared for a few minutes behind the curtain that led to the back of his shop, where all the boxed artifacts he hadn't sorted through yet were stored. Big risk the customers took, buying these without looking them over first, but Asphir wasn't going to stand in their way if they wanted to gamble their hard-earned gold.

He returned after a brief wait, buried under seven boxes of varying sizes and shapes. Asphir set the mess of boxes on his counter and started handing them out in order of purchase.

Mystic Quilted Armor

Quilted armor is rarely so pretty, embossed and embroidered with gold thread stitched across burgundy cloth layered intricately to protect as well as mere padding can. This quilted armor also carries with it an unsubtle air of enchantment. In fact, despite being made of cloth, this armor never wears out, never stains, never seems to get wet, never stinks, never rips, and indeed, it never cuts even when attacked with something very sharp. More than that, though, any magic workings attempted while this armor is worn seem to go much more smoothly, as if the armor itself is a conduit to a much larger power source.

Wanderer's Codex of Gender-Reversal

An ancient, dusty tome. The pages jut out of the closed book unevenly, as if some have been torn at over the years. Each page is thick and yellowed with age. The cover seems to be bound with a strange kind of leather, oddly mesmerizing to behold and incredibly soft to the touch. Whether the tome is cursed or not depends upon how you view what happens when the book is opened to page 63, which is that everyone in the vicinity of the opened tome is forcibly reassigned gender. The good news there is anyone who wishes to be turned back need only close the tome and re-open it to the same page. The bad news is that it is not a comfortable process.

Pendant of Falsehood Negation

This simple ruby teardrop on a silver chain is elegance and beauty refined to minimalist chic. Lightweight, subtle, yet the perfect piece to fit with any outfit, really. Its quiet masculine energy advertises it as an ideal decoration. ...that doesn't come off. Not without a Remove Curse spell, anyway. At least admitting to why you need one will be easy: the pendant's wearer is completely incapable of falsehood. Not just lying, but utterly incapable of manipulation of any means, even using technicalities and loopholes to dupe an idiot. At least it looks nice?

Fine Burning Mandolin

A masterwork mandolin. It is crafted of an unidentifiable wood polished to a rich reddish sheen, with an olive wreathe in paler, almost golden wood framing the sound hole. The strings are always in tune. Beyond its obvious excellence in craftsmanship, it doesn't appear too far out of the ordinary until it is taken in hand and played. Then the mandolin...appears to catch flame. In fact, fire appears to dance everywhere around it, dancing to the tune being played, if a tune is indeed being played with vigor and confidence. Faltering attempts at strumming tend to make the flames sputter. None of the flames are actually hot, as none of the fire is real.

Garment of Dreamer's Corruption

A beautiful satin sleeping shirt that absolutely begs to be slept in. It looks like the ideal of comfort, and will magically arrange itself to accommodate any number of stray limbs, such as wings or extra arms. Satin and silk and cotton, highest thread count in the land. Warm in the cold and cool in the heat. Indeed, there is only one measure of comfort in which this sleeping shirt does not excel. That would be dreams. Oh, they'll all start out normal enough, but bit by bit drips the poison that turns the dreams dark and disturbing.

Symbol of Negate Life-Draining

A symbol of an unknown god or goddess of death from a culture long far-flung, on one side of the metal disk, a sword, and on the other, a shield. This holy symbol hangs on the end of what appear to be prayer beads made of bone. However unsettling this holy artifact might be, when on its possessor's person and its possessor undergoes a life-draining attack...well, whatever is attempting the life-drain meets with failure. Complete failure.

Burning Longsword

At first, a simple steel longsword, possibly of Templar make. Then drawn from its scabbard, the word heretic whispered next to its fine red pommel, and WHOOSH! The entire blade is engulfed in furious flames, eager to burn the enemies of the righteous to the waterline in a row, like a flock of fiery geese. The sword, Heretic's Bane to some, many names to many others, packs a hard hit and also flames whenever the trigger word is used. The word stillness calms the flame and returns the sword to an ordinary, mundane thing.

Boxes distributed, Asphir returned his attention to Percival. "Your order shouldn't be too long, sir. I believe I have a flintlock I can use for the base and the rest is...too complicated to explain, so I'll just go do it now. Shouldn't be more than half an hour. Be careful if you experiment with any of those items in here; I haven't sorted them yet, so I have no idea what any single one of them does.

Eventually, roundabouts that half hour he promised, Asphir returned with the promised gun. "I'll get this boxed for you, sir, and then the display items all wrapped up. Don't worry, I remember who ordered what."

Sacred Flintlock Pistol of Greed

Flintlock pistols have a lot more wood in them than modern guns, which makes plenty of room for carvings of small, religious-looking sigils all around it. What culture, what religion spawned these symbols, nobody can say for sure. What folk can say is that the sacred rune work gives the flintlock an unnaturally powerful kick against monsters, most especially the undead. It has a side benefit, too, this pistol. Its owner is more likely to find money out in the world, and treasure and gems seem to just appear near the gun every sunrise.

Buckler of Cold Deflection
This small steel buckler looks humble, but the wearer feels a subtle warmth at all times and indeed never quite feels cold no matter how cold it gets. Frost attacks are especially repelled by this buckler, rendering the bearer immune.

Charm of Crystal and Happiness

A simple crystal necklace on a simple golden chain, this necklace makes the wearer, well, happy. Every good thing that happens is great! Every bad thing that happens could be worse, really, when you think about it. Nothing is too daunting or too challenging to burst your bubble when you're wearing a charm that literally radiates joy and good cheer.
