Frisk didn't normally frequent the shops, but they had come in for a special reason. For protection, though not for themself but for another. They had seen a strange object while they were outside, hidden deep within a cave that would have been easily missed otherwise. Perhaps it was their compassionate nature calling to them to help out whatever was hidden inside that object, for indeed they had felt a soul, not quite like their own but a soul nonetheless, resonating within it. They handed a small bag of golden coins over to Asphir and signed 'I need a charm that runs on Soul magic, preferably one as small as a pin or a brooch, that can shield its wearer. Can you make one for me, please?' ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'd like to pay twenty shop coins for a shield charm, aka premium artifact please and thank you~
"A customer!" Asphir exclaimed. "Come in, come in, welcome."
Luckily, Asphir was well-versed in many variations of sign language. And magic. He signed back Absolutely! Give me some time to gather the materials and do the enchantment and such a charm you will have!
It was maybe half an hour, but Asphir returned to the counter bearing a small box with a charm pin, and a card with instructions for use.
Shielding Charm Pin of Control Sound
This little pin looks like someone took one of the charms native to Hallownest and affixed it to something not unlike a hairpin. It's expert lapidary work: nobody outside of Hallownest natives could ever tell the two things were not supposed to be one to begin with.
The charm gives its possessor the ability to generate a protective barrier around themselves and a small radius of closely-gathered allies. This impermeable barrier will stop just about anything until it has taken enough damage to shatter. Fear little, however, the barrier is quite robust. The possessor of the charm is also endowed with the ability to control sound: the way it moves, the way it bends, the volume at which it impacts. Perfect for being sneaky, and perfect for bringing down the walls of Jericho with an amplified whisper. Dealer's choice, that.
