When you stare into the Void..

Staring at the pool and the stars reflected within, Void might not immediately realize that he was no longer alone. After all dark-on-dark was tricky to spot.

Then a particular pair of stars, much large than the rest, would catch in his peripheral vision. Odd, perhaps, but perhaps it was merely fireflies. Or the IF up to its usual tricks.

Then the 'stars' blinked, a shift of the starlight made the difference between nighttime sky and feline form, and an Astrum was there, sitting asst Void's side patiently.

I am ready to go whenever you are, sir.



The Ephemeral Servant Male Void Astrum

Legends on certain worlds told of kindly house spirits who would do minor chores around the home in return for being permitted to stay and maybe a little snack or two every now and then. They were hardly ever seen if at all, but the family in residence would find clothes cleaned and folded, dishes washed and stowed away, shelves dusted, and other odd and end jobs.

Perhaps Ephimereal Servant was inspired by these tales for he certainly fits the bill!

Void Astrum are known for their seemingly ability to be just where they're not expected. Ephemeral Servant uses this sneakiness to his advantage, moving about when Void is away or otherwise occupied and taking care of all those sundry details that might slip the mind of a creature not used to being so material. A tail dusting here, ordering groceries for delivery there, and more so that when his shadowy friend returns home (wherever home happens to be) there is little if anything for him to fret or worry about. It makes him quite happy to be so useful.

Ephemeral Servant also is proactive in his deeds, even to the point of seeming to be precognative about it. Many are the times when Void will find himself in need of something and his Astrum will appear at his side, either having already accomplished the task or knowing quite well how to go about it.

Curiously this Astrum has a small formal quirk in his behavior in that he will always call Void 'sir," even if requested otherwise. Why he does this is probably the one thing no on will ever know.

All this furry little feline wants in return for his service? Friendship, a home to share, and maybe a spot in a warm lap occasionally.

As far as Astrums go Ephemeral Servant is averaged-sized, body about a foot or so long and tail just a bit longer. His markless ebony fur is smooth save for his plume of a tail and along the lower half of each leg, giving him an elegant of silent swish with each step especially if lit by his equally ebony Glow. Like all adult Astrum his eyes are star-yellow and he is among those of his kind with feathered wings, in his case just as richly black as the rest of him.
