And once more at work my mind turns to Sundered and how I might make things more fun for all!
Now, previously I said that for my creatures I was trying to limit the personality-by-rank nature of the species as well as opening most all of them to being both male and female.
But while musing over various Things I had the thought that there was a way that, for my creatures, I could remove the personality links to the ranks entirely!
Here's an example:
At Current: Quesar Astrum
These Astrum queens are bright individuals, both mentally and physically. Very intelligent, they enjoy study and learning, and philosophical debates are one of their favorite pastimes. They take such exercises as a means of development and personal growth, so they do not mind losing, unless they think they have been cheated. Then you can expect a rematch.
With silky, fur that always seems to drift, never laying still and colored in overlapping streaks and bands of purples, pinks, and golden, it is sometimes quite hard to tell their actual color as their Glow is a brilliant radiant white that their bodies emit continuously. It isn't uncommon for Quasars to sleep in separate rooms from others to not disturb their rest. A Quasar's litter consists of around eight or sometimes even nine kittens.

As it would be Updated: Quesar Astrum
Identifying a Quasar is a subtle but simple thing, really. Regardless of fur texture or their winged status, their fur will always seem to shift and drift even when they are sitting still, and they favor streaks and bands of purple, pink, and gold. But the easier way to identify them is their brilliant, even blinding Glow which almost utterly obscures their fur shades and they can't even turn off if they want to. It isn't uncommon for Quasars to sleep in separate rooms from others to not disturb their rest. A female Quasar's litter consists of around eight or sometimes even nine kittens.
For the Astrum, their ranks would be determined by their Glow and the occasional fur texture or marking. I have gone through my creatures and done these updates in my OneNote, half to see and half in preparation. The only creatures of mine I don't think would change would be Unicorns and Gryphons because I really couldn't find a way to remove the personality from their ranks without damaging the theme of the species as a whole.
Now the question: Is this something that our community would want/think needed? Or are you fine with the way things are? I have utterly no preference either way, so don't think you'd hurt my feelings by your thoughts. My consideration was to make it potentially easier to make creatures for Bondings, the Shrine, or Events if personality linking to rank wasn't a thought. I really need everyone's opinion on this, so please vote and let me know your thoughts!
