Master and Commander, a Meowfficer Supreme, Asherah
Mindspeech: Bold #67a8e5
Ever since Asherah was a young Mewlin she has had a fascination, a love, even an obsession with the sea and bodies of water in general. Her Pace sometimes even joked good-naturedly that in one of her past lives she must've been a Zaithand. Every chance she got she was at the shore watching the waves and playing in the shallows. It was something no one was surprised she never grew out of and once she earned her boots and blade again none were surprised when she left to experience her beloved sea. She traveled from port of call to port of call, boarding everything from fishing boats to passenger vessels. She sought out sailors for conversation in taverns and inns, listened to officers tell of their codes, and finally feels there is only one thing left to complete her:
A worthy ship and crew of her own.
Asherah is every bit a competent officer - or Meowfficer as it were. Her honed Claymore mind is a wealth of carefully-stored maritime regulations and laws. She's a naval tactician of skill. Most importantly perhaps, she is a cool paw when chaos is breaking out and the waves are rough, never showing fear on her face and speaking as if her success is a foregone conclusion. She is the eye of the hurricane when everyone else is losing their heads, though she's not above giving a piercing feline shriek to bring her crew in line if they don't heed her calls to order. Though she's not all strict and stern; she has a nurturing side, especially for those who are following a dream, and is a willing hand at any needed task and will be a fair peacekeeper when there are arguments. Like some Meowlures she occasionally gives a little purring trill, the rolling of an R, at the end of her sentences.
Standing at a little over a foot and a half tall, Asherah nevertheless cuts a fine figure. She always carries herself with the dignity of an officer and a lady. Her coloration suggests what some may call a Siamese cat with pale fawn body and rich brown ears, mask, limbs, and tail. Her blue eyes reflect her intelligence and confidence and even a faint air of mystery when she wants to. Though most Meowlures don't bother with clothing aside from their boots and whatever means they choose to carry their blades Asherah has added another item: a ship officer's coat that she had custom tailored. She actually owns three, two day-to-day coats and one dress coat that she wears for fancy occasions. All three match well with her blade, an elegant weapon with a gilded, carved crossguard and pommel, and her boots, which she wears thigh-high and are were made waterproof, which of course also complement her fur. It wouldn't do for Asherah to look anything less than her best as a Meowfficer.
Chief Meowfficer Ability:Purr-emptive Strike!
At the beginning of the sortie, Asherah unleashes a sword strike that shatters the armor of the fleet opposing Asherah's flagship, USS Orinda, thereby reducing fleet armor rating for duration of sortie.
A Nice, Cozy Burrow is a Nice, Cozy Home Female Giant Lepicerin, Plum
Mindspeech: Color#9785e3
If you happen to be in your backyard and see a place where the dirt is flying from a nice, wide hole, well, you've probably figured out where Plum has gotten herself to. A giant of a Lepicerin, literally and by rank, she loves to dig and burrow whether it's in the ground or in a pile of blankets. The only thing that makes it better is if her bonded is in her burrow with her (yes, she's quite capable of making it large enough for most humanoids). She'll dig all day if allowed to which may be a good thing or not. Perhaps she could be trained to help in the garden?
Plum is a full three feet tall at the shoulder. By assistance she is a lovely cream-tan all over with white highlights here and there throughout her fur.
One might find this Ylz either impossible to deal with, or the most beneficial partner imaginable. The Defteros Ylz were the ones that the orcs would negotiate with for their rite of passage tests back in the day and she has not only maintained that bargaining mind but honed it further. Even as they were fighting for their lives she used it to her advantage, convincing several young orc warriors that another was to kill her and steal their glory to make them fight one another instead. Granted whether the bargain is an even win-win or if she'll edge toy out depends on both how you treat her and how she feels on any given day. After all, she can have only do much respect for a non-Ylz.
Charcoal gray all over, her spine-teaching cobalt blue line makes it easy to spot her from behind. She is a couple of centimeters under two feet tall at the shoulder, visibly smaller than her Matriarch despite being older by a couple years.
Logistics Repair and Regular Maintenance Puzzle Female, Akashi Speech: #2cc861
Most people think of sphinxes as talking in riddles instead of cat puns, but then there's Akashi, who can't seem to help herself when the paw-sibility of a cat pun or reference just so happens to come along. But that's what makes her an individual, nya? She also sets up shop selling...whatever folks will buy, and you'd better check your items before you pay for them just in case. She's a reliable repair ship but not a reliable merchant, Akashi, and what you spend your hard-earned money on may in fact be cheap crap dressed up to look all fancy and newfangled. And the warranty expires as soon as you pay, so be careful. Mercantile shenanigans aside, however, there's no better hands to be in if one is a mechanical or ship-like being in need of repair.
That's what Akashi was made for, to be a repair ship. In fact, she excels at it. If brought into sortie, she brings three emergency repair plan kits just in case quick repairs need to be done. Mechanical or ship beings in the sortie heal 1% of Akashi's max health every ten seconds during sortie. And just being near her makes the Vanguard Fleet reload faster.
As a sphinx, Akashi's mane is a soft sage green and long enough to be pulled back into a braid that comes to rest over her shoulder. Her ears are oversized and dramatic, dipping and swiveling with her every shift in mood, and just as green as her hair. Her eyes are large and golden, almost seeming to glow, and the pupils seem to be a lighter yellow instead of black. Her ever-present rigging includes a steel mast that rises from between her shoulders and a repair hook that sits behind that so that she can tow limping ships to safety.
Dark, for a Typhoon, Enterprise's body is base black, although every marking on her is metallic silver, making her resemble a strange artist's rendering of an orca if an orca had only been described and not seen in person, with various liberties taken for imagination. Her eyes are a pale, clear lavender, sharp, intelligent, knowing. Her body is oddly unscathed for a warrior of her renown, but her eyes remain haunted by what she's seen and done.
Enterprise is the kind of quiet leader who always seems surprised to find she's been put in charge. She haunts the edges of gatherings, protective but not social, burning with a fierce love for her pod but also suffering a total inability to connect with them. When war finds them, her answer to the enemy is total and absolute: it's over. With her large body and poisoned spines, not to mention a Typhoon's ability to turn the ocean into a blender, Enterprise meets every opponent with overwhelming force without exception, and is more than capable of engaging multiple powerful enemies at once. She's also eerily hard to hit. For something that hits as hard as she does, it should be possible to hit her back, but it simply isn't. Enterprise just seems to be impervious to incoming damage somehow, and nobody has ever found a satisfactory explanation, however, it did earn Enterprise her nickname Lucky E. For all her prowess in combat, however, Enterprise is a troubled creature and the one thing she doesn't know how to do is ask for help. The more damaged she feels, the more likely she is to strong-arm herself into muscling through her routines. Also investing a lot of effort into making sure nobody notices she's falling apart at the seams. She has to be strong. She has to be the leader. She has to be perfect... Obviously this strategy is not sustainable and she needs her loved ones to check her, often, and ground her in the reality that she is in fact mortal despite her legendary capabilities.
Mutation: Lucky E Enterprise is impervious to incoming damage for six seconds, has 50% activation chance on attack.
