The site's rating is a generalized PG-13, but we are aware that there is always some room for interpretation exactly what 'PG-13' means, especially in this day and age. So here are a few specific Guidelines to make the Library accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
*No adult content, period. Having characters kissing, embracing, or showing they are romantic together is fine, but nothing graphic or directly depicting acts of sex or inappropriate nudity. This is to keep Sundered Weyr in accordance with zetaboards rules. Also, all characters IN any sort of romantic relationship must clearly be over 18 years of age.
*Forms of violence are allowed, but if there is a large amount of it please place an M/Mature warning in the topic description so others know that it will be there. Egregiously graphic descriptions of violence, however, are not permitted.
Please be aware that while we do not want to, we reserve the right to remove material we find that breaks these rules, as well as warn the author/artist of the infraction. This is again to protect everyone on Sundered Weyr as well as the site itself, not out of any creative censorship. Removed material may be re-posted after the issues with them are resolved.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to PM an admin, and we will be glad to help!
PLEASE NOTE: A USER MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE CHARACTER PROFILE POSTED AND ACTIVE TO USE THE LIBRARY.◘
◘If you're wondering about the sudden new edit, we just had a spam account post spam in our library, which we promptly deleted. Our usual userbase is totally fine, nobody's in trouble, none of that. But for future reference...
Heron Notes
Just dropping in to add in some organizational notes!
You may have noticed the numerous sub-categories within the Library. We have stuff for everyone! And if it isn't there now, we'll add it when we need it, so you guys go ahead and think up whatever crazy-ass creative projects you want. We've got you covered.
ART, this is, generally speaking, any and all visual media such as photo manipulations, drawings, and other such pictures. May also include video! If we get enough of those, the Library will get a Theater expansion. Until that point, however, it's going to remain as-is. For now, we have places for character art, creature art, fanart, and a gallery for original work. So come on, show off!
CREATIVE WRITING is, actually, y'all ain't stupid. You write stuff that doesn't fit into a direct RP, it basically goes here. Original Work! Fanfiction! Show us your non-Sunder creative sides too! ...or, and you're going to want to pay attention to this bit, you can write about your character(s) before they arrived to Teragaia. Who were they before the Illogical Field snapped them up and dropped them here? What did they do? Whom did they know? More importantly, were you aware you could use the Pre-Sunder Adventures section to fill in Word Prompt Challenge word lists? YOU CAN! Only in Pre-Sunder Adventures, however. Word Prompt Challenges cannot be filled in the Original Work or Fanfiction categories...but post anyway. You never know when Mr. Stealthy McSneakypants will show up and share Aeon's blessings with the creative.
ALSO, this one bit that could possibly get confusing for characters such as (for example) my Shrayla, Owl's Telmaril and Legion... Neverwinter Nights, Final Fantasy, and Transformers, respectively. They are fandom characters -- so is it Pre-Sunder Adventures or Fanfiction writing about them in their native environments?
If you are playing a fandom character, writing about their history can be considered a Pre-Sunder Adventures category post so long as your character is the focus of the story. If your character is not mentioned or is only briefly apparent, it is considered Fanfiction.
And on Kay's note about egregious violence and gore... I write about Jacien's history. It's dark, there's a mature content warning on the label, and the graphic nature of it? THAT'S THE LINE. His history goes right to the edge of what's acceptable, if you need a litmus test for whether or not something is TOO graphic.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the Library tour! Have fun filling it up with all sorts of stuff, a'right?
