Strange happenings wasn't exactly uncommon on Teragaia. The sky turning a sickly green above the village while purple over the Weyr, rivers running black like tar but when you touched it it was like smoke, fish that normally didn't fly sprouting wings and flinging themselves into the air where they would no doubt be eaten by airborn predators, the tide starting coming several times a day... None of this, or any of the other dozens of things was new, though the trees turning to clear glass and back was noticed, mostly because they did look stunning.
Now, all of these things had happened before and few people would have even raised an eyebrow at it, but all of it at once was indeed a bit unusual, sparking discussions in both Weyr and village. There was an official meeting, lead by the director of the Institute of Science and Art, to try to find out what was going on, but that only lead to several wild theories and a hefty argument that eventually puttered out in a general agreement to disagree. Since nobody knew anything about the IF nobody could really bring any likely theories to the table. The best explanation they had was that these were natural fluctuations, and that people just hadn't been around for the previous swing.
Some inhabitants would report having a feeling of something being 'off', while others might say they didn't feel a thing. Only one thing would be in common of those having the 'off' feeling; they were all native to the planet.
By the time the Calling, as it would end up being known as, had been heard, the stranger-than-usual events had been going on for about a month. There had been more meetings, more discussions and arguments, and all those who had any theory had been heard yet no explanation had been found other than 'the IF is being extra special'.
One might think the Calling had been issued by Sandasa, or perhaps one of the other Weyrs across the planet, but no. There were no sender, no signature of who Called those who answered. It would be a sense of a need to be somewhere, a drawing to go. This might come in the form of a letter slipped under a door, an idea when you woke up, a sudden urge to 'go that way', or anything in between. There would be no apparent reason for this need, but one thing was certain. Only those needed were called. It was not an open invitation, exactly those needed were called, no more, no less, and they would come.
Those who heard the Calling would eventually meet the others, all congregating deep in the forest, something drawing them to that particular clearing with a sense of purpose. It was far away from Haven, and peculiar enough, after everything was done and if you counted backwards, every single person would have received the Call at just the right time to get to the clearing in time, regardless of how they got there. If someone decided to walk they would get it two weeks before one arriving on dragonback, for example, as if the Caller knew beforehand how they would travel!
Upon arrival it would be a bright, sunny midday, the sky a light purple with pink clouds and a hint of autumn, that crisp feeling in the air despite the sun shining bright.
Nevermind the calendar said mid-summer.

Come one, come all! Well, maximum of two characters per player I believe, Bondeds of any kind also welcome. Most of this will be executed on the ground and dragons might not always be practical but still welcome.
Rules: not really. I'm not setting any deadline for joining yet, your char can show up at any given moment for now, but it will be closed when we get closer to the end.
And yes, the title can definitely use some work XD
