The Shadow Queen Beacon - Yolathen Font: Bold Italic #B18904 Bold Italic #B18904 Current form: Lionness Final form: Sea Otter
With a title like the Shadow Queen, you would think that this Beacon might just be downright evil. Well you would be...Wrong. Dead wrong. Heh. See what I did there? The dead are on the rise and...Oh nevermind. This isn't the time for jokes. Or puns. This Beacon is a queen, both in rank and her chosen career. She is a powerful voodoo queen and you do not want to cross you. Raising zombies is the least of the worst she could do to you. And voodoo dolls? Child's play for her. Heh. See. Another pun. Cause. You know dolls and children play with....Oh forget it. Thankfully, she is hard to cross. Calm as a smooth flowing river, strong as a mountain, as light and playful as a light breeze, she Isn't one for curses and evil charms. Her speciality is protection from voodoo dolls; from the dead; from the Evil Eye; from those that would wish harm. She offers shelter and sanctuary for those that wish it. Almost no force on Teragaia can beat out a spell she has put her full effort into and she knows this. Just another reason why it is a good thing she is on our side and not the side of those that wish harm.
Her protective instincts are most powerful for her bonded, but will extend to any and all that her bonded holds dear to their heart. But this protection is not blind. She firmly believes in learning from your mistakes so you may grow stronger so if you got yourself into this mess, you can get out of it. Naturally, she would help from the sidelines and step in if necessary. After all, if you die from your mistake, you are not really learning from it are you?
Giant otters are pretty big. They have giant in the name after all. Though this one takes the cake. Then again, anything measuring 13 feet long would take any sort of cake. Probably even able to eat it all too if they chose too. Her eyes are a warm gold, like all beacons and they look out upon the world with kindness. She chose her bond due to his protective nature as well. His willingness to save even that which could not be saved. To have that hope that they could be saved. To hang onto that hope and not ever really give it up. That is what attractive her to Keldos. To make her realize that this was the piece she had been missing. Her fur is a mixing pattern of deep greens, deep browns, brighter browns, light yellows and tans. Almost like the dappled shadows on a forest floor. The pattern they make even signals that. Almost random, but not quite there. They even seem to shift, but rest assured, it is just a trick the colors play...Hopefully. Some bright blue is mixed in around her paws and feet, almost like toeless socks and fingerless gloves.
When Worlds Collide Cern (Noble Dalga) Grathkin - (Silverback Gorilla, Albino) Rank: ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ (Many more stars, if you ask Cern)
Speech Font: (granted, not mindspeech, but so he's discernable from Keldos' talking) Bold #f0b81f
Imagine a normal Dalga member of the Grathkin. Tall, covered in black fur, with silver streaks here and there, massive black wings, big sword, etc. Well, forget it all except the 'tall' and 'big sword' part. Cern is an incredibly rare Albino Dalga, born with pristine alabaster fur and white wings. His belly, which has that semi-dense flesh plating, is also a deep grey-white blend, and his hands are padded similarly. His eyes are a very dark blue, like staring into the depths of the ocean at midnight. The markings on the tops of his shoulders and his back, strangely enough, are still silver. The wings, though... oh the wings. They are as Glorious as the angels of Solaris - almost glowing in the daylight. The only thing normal about him, in fact, would be the Noble crest on his forehead - double gold with an outer ring, and of course, the Stoneheart symbolic ring in the center.
Like all of his rank, he carries a sharp, curving, single-edged blade on his back which he uses at a moment's notice, though unlike the Lagra, never in the case of merely seeking a fight. Although... when it comes to friendly competition and sparring, he will volunteer readily, and frequently, and actually looks forward to crossing blades with the impressive Keldos, to which he has been bound. The way Lakada sees it, the two of them fighting back to back might just scare off The Eater of Worlds, should it come looking - so no better pair could there have been.
Being a noble, he has a firm grasp on many languages, and communicates with a very soft but deep voice, and he also feels the need to use it quite often. A warrior through and through, he often finds himself belittling his foes while fighting with them, even while sparring, if only for the sake of riling up his competition and trying to drive them to new heights. It is only in a conflict with a worthy challenge, that strength is gained, and so he always seeks the hardest foes he can face in any given conflict, and approaches his life in much the same way.
Interestingly enough, his lifestyle and combat style is very similar to that of a particular Selu in the weyr, as he practices an art of 'one mind' in which he ignores everything but the immediately relevant factors in any instance. In example, he never thinks about what he'll need tomorrow - he'll go get it if he needs it... tomorrow. He doesn't think in terms of military strategy, but rather which big foe he can end immediately. And of course, he doesn't think about who will cry over his words, merely that his point is understood. He's not cruel, so to speak, but simply forward.
Dalga are born to be protectors and organizers, but somewhere in evolution, his ability to command or lead left him with the black pigment his fur was intended to have. In its place, though, he has an incredible hobby - he likes music and is quite skilled at a wide variety of percussion instruments, and favors thick, melodious drums (like the tympani). When he's not severing things with his sword, having fun training lesser warriors, or boisterously enjoying time with his friends while drinking and making merry, he's playing a set of three drums he wears around his waist. They're rather larger (for a human), but fit nicely to one side, which he can swing around to be in front of him whenever the mood strikes. Pity be to the foe who harms his drums, though, for Hell hath no Fury to describe the big albino's wrath.
Her name is Sophia and wisdom is her game. Okay, bad introduction aside, Sophia is very wise, like most starmanes seemed to be. Must be the divine blood in them. Calm and patient, nothing seems to ruffler her ethereal feathers. Generous too as she freely gives out her advice to anyone she thinks might need it. Wanted or not. Despite this, she realizes that not everyone will follow it and that suits her just fine. In her mind, it is better to put something out there and give the other a choice or even another option than to keep it to herself and watch them suffer. The one most likely to suffer her advice is Keldos, but also rarely sees the need to give him any. At least when it comes to certain aspects. She knows when she is interfering into matters far beyond her scope of knowledge and will always politely defer to those who know best. Unless the safety of the Host is threatened, she has a very hands off approach to running the Host. She knows that more often than not, the best teacher is life and no matter how much she wants to accelerate that learning just a bit, she knows that the endeavor is often a fruitless one. She tackles problems in many different ways, knowing that things aren't always what they appear to be, nor are they ever that simple. She can often be found listening to Keldos play, either solo or with his brother Raferties, as it is one of her favorite past times.
She is such a pale silver color, she could be mistaken for being white, but she isn't this color completely. Oh no. Pale shades of copper, gold, a slightly darker shade of silver, brass and a rose gold create a dapple effect on this starmane which in turns gives her an almost shifting color scheme, must like you would find staring into a crystal of some kind as you turn it around in your hands. Whereas most of the ethereal creatures found this night cause an outward glow, her glow is different. It seems to be a soft, warm, inner glow that helps create the illusion that she is a living crystal horse her coloration had started. Rest assure though, she is very much flesh and blood (or as much as any starmane is). Though sometimes, some might wish she was just made of crystal. After all, those would be the ones that found out the hard way that a starmane's hooves aren't just for show.
Hippogryph Night Female Confessora -- Keldos (Name is a Solarian religious title for a priest or priestess who hears the confessions of the faithful, most often called to deathbed confessions. They hear the worst of mankind and take it into themselves, never speaking of what they are told and giving atonement; in some cultures they're called sin eaters)
Brave. Strong. Swift to action. A great listener. This is one Valor many would be glad is on their side. Even if he is just a wee bit gullible from time to time. Often taking things at face value, it is only when he stops to think and listen that he realizes that he has been fooled. Or he may be right on the money. Hence why he doesn't excatly like fighting and while he may step into a battle willingly enough, he only does so to stop it if he can. If it looks like he can't, he won't join any battle unless he knows for sure what side is the right one. More often than not, that is the side that his bonded is on as Keldos surely wouldn't be on the wrong side of things. For the most part anyway. He trusts Keldos completely and also puts quite a bit of trust in his bonded's judgement as well. Though, if he believes that Keldos does not have all the facts on hand to make a judgement, he is often the first one to speak up and put any doubts forward should there be any. He hates to see the innocent be hurt and often goes to great length to protect them when he sees something happening. Hence how he can often times be gulliable. Not afraid to apologize should he be in the wrong, this Valor does his best to live up to a code of honor that he believes more people should live by.
Nothing about his appearance is unusual. His horn and hooves are normal and his hide is a lovely light grey with his mane and tail being a a slightly darker grey. There is some white specks across his flanks but other than that, he is simply your average Valor. About the only thing that stands out about him is he does have a rough knitted, dark red, scarf around his neck that was once given to him when he was younger by a grateful human. He is rarely without it as it helps to remind him that hope never truly dies and there is always a light somewhere. You just have to be willing to accept it when it appears.
A Gentle Reminder Is All You Need Flame - Ancora ((refuge, anchor, sanctuary))
Mindspeech: Color #df9ee Color #df9ee
Like all Flames, this one is just as gentle and affectionate. She will do her best to see to your well begin Keldos for you are part of her bonfire now. She is bonded to you and you to her and she knows your heart well. For even when you doubt yourself, she does not. She knows you are good. She knows you trust in a higher plan. You trust in Solaris to help guide your hand and blade. To help you know when to turn the other cheek and when to punch back. After all, your instinct lead you to the Shrine at the exact moment she happened to be there. That is all the proof she needs to know. She never leaves your side and fully puts her trust in you. Stubborn too, she will always be there to remind you of where you came from and who you are now. That your trials and past deeds help make you who you are today, even if they aren't all that savory. She will be there to help take away the sting from the painful memories and show you what the memories are meant to show you.
A hero. One who, despite all the temptation laid in front of him, triumph till the end. Rose when he could have Fallen. Protected when he could have destroyed. Stayed true when he could have strayed.
Whenever she senses that Keldos might let the past overwhelm him, she will sing to him and help remind him of all that he is. All that he will be. What he is at the core of his very being. Friend. Brother. Confident. Rider. Lover. Warrior. Firstborn. No words will ever cross her tongue, but then again, you don't need words, do you Keldos?
She appears to be a normal Flame in every way, though there is something a bit unusual about her banding. It is still that bright orange, but the banding along her wings and tail seem to come in groups of three. Almost as if...Small but mighty, this Flame is a force to be reckon with, and she won't let you forget it anytime soon.
Never has any green held a grudge like this one; he hates, hates, hates a certain gold mottle and would sooner attack him with teeth bared and claws slashing. He is of similar build to the gold mottle, being tied for the smallest in their group, and seems to be more than a little unstable. He used to be like any other green fire lizard: cheerful, well-liked, maybe a bit arrogant but he was overall decent until the clumsy gold mottle had to roll in and ruin his reputation by spreading lies about him being a bad lizard that was only going to do their fair harm. He was driven out from the fair shortly afterwards, left to fend for himself in the wilds and losing not just friends but family. He is obsessed with besting the gold mottle, no matter what it takes, and will not settle until he destroys his life. But perhaps a bit of kindness and acceptance will help this green fire lizard get over past slights and encourage him to live a relatively normal and perhaps happy life. He calls himself 'Wasp' and will answer to no other name regardless of whether his bonded gives him one.
