One more for Safety's Sake!

A big collection of tables decked for dozens of people was not what Nec had expected to find in the park. But then he was learning to expect the unexpected, and it was a park.

The eggs were a surprise though.

He rounded a table strewn with eggs and picked up the jeweled Farberge egg, the intricate pattern and stones (he was a troll after all) catching his eyes. Wandering between more tables while studying it, it took him a while to realize he wasn't alone, spotting Taki, Dominic and a couple of tables away.

"Throwing a party? Long time no see Taki. Dominic." He nodded at them all, including the unknown one, in greeting. Seeing at least Taki had cracked her egg, and an unknown Grathkin sort of... hovering around her, Nec cracked his too. (Too bad, really, it was a very pretty egg.)


Taki merrily waved to Nec as well when he greeted her, and Velden slowly nodded in a manner that might be faintly familiar to the Changeling, reminiscent of an old friend back on his original world perhaps.
Cracking his egg Nec would find that it split easily - a little super glue and it probably would look good as new! - but all that aside a small bag of marbles would fall into his hand. Perhaps he would be up for a quick solo game?

Sure, Raeneth had changed a bit. Her little horns were growing backward, and her eyes were tinged with an emerald green. Her scarred mouth sounded out the words she was reading on a scribbly page.

"Eeeeehhhhg. Egg. Ehhhgg. Thisss says egg."

Marrok blinked, opening his maw and shutting it as his bonded held up a finger. She knew already that he didn't want her to go alone. Of course...he also wanted into that book that she was reading. His eyes cut to it in thought. It would be unguarded, and he could possibly finish and hoard it by the time she returned. Yes, she could handle herself, drunk or not.

A canid grin met that of the demon and she hurried out the door with a lot more balance than expected of someone reeking of whiskey. She had to turn and open the door again to let her tail out, but she wasn't stumbling.

Soon, Nilfar was edging toward the door, but a quick swat from Alata put him in his place, specifically, a waste basket that stuck onto his head.

"KAYA. I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH."

Though blurted hard, Raeneth was attempting to softly hug the erinyes, and hopefully not terrify the girl.

"I got you...something. And I have it. Here."

The demon pulled a gift from her cloak. It was a decorated knife, jeweled and covered in swirls. The blade was curved and incredibly sharp.

"It's for your kills. We can hunt together sometime and you can...gut it yourssself. Yaaaay."

Looking to Belial, she tilted her head.

"Wh-what is that?"

All weirdness aside, she did appreciate meeting a couple of her family members at the egg party. She didn't know what was going on, but looking to the egg table, she picked the first one she saw. It was the White-Black Ombre and she couldn't resist picking it right up.

((Just as an OOC note, I'm going to let Heron RP Kaya this time around, so I won't be playing her response in this post.))
The White-Black Ombre egg would be heavy and warm in Raeneth's egg, feeling much more like a stone than an egg though it would sound both hollow inside...and filled. A little close examination would reveal a small detail, however: the ombre effect would be skewed on one side, and indicated of all things a screw-top to the egg.

Well, IF. It's to be expected that an egg would neatly screw open and closed.

Inside would be a tiny pair of cymbals, tiny things that might be played on two fingers. Even at the slightest touch they would ping musically, if softly. Perhaps something was waiting to hear things a bit louder?

Where there was a party with brightly colored trinkets and treats, there will be a certain small familiar making her way among the tables. And where there were Brains, there would be a skeleton not too far behind. Usually.

Brains was hopping among the tables, stuffing her cheeks full of candies while using the strings to tie trinkets to her tail. Plastic eggs. Silly bunny rings. Even a napkin full of glitter and tied off could all be found on her tail. As for her cheeks...Better not to think about how much food she was actually stuffing in there.

Least that is what Cain was trying to do. He was also trying not to imagine how she was going to stuff that chocolate bunny nearly as big as her into his skull. The hope that she wouldn't be able to carry it was dashed as she just tied it onto her back and continued on her way.

Deciding it was wise to ignore the familiar for now, he made his way over to where he saw Taki and Dominic with all the others he had seen around. On the way, he picked up the bronze egg, tapping against the top of it with his fingers. "Why am I not surprised to see ya here miss pocket full of sunshine?" He tone was jovial as he reached Taki and gently pulled on her hat. "And how are ya doing Dominic? Not too bad for ya yet?" He was asking if the zombie was okay with the crowd that was starting to form as the drums' message was heard loud and clear to bring the curious people towards the park.

Taki giggled happily when Cain tugged on her hat, giving a little mew sound of delight and bouncing on her feet merrily.

*Hehe, I thought I saw Brains!* she giggled.

Cain's bronze egg would feel smooth and cool, even to his duller sense of touch. But a single place would scritch over his fingerbones, a circular mark like... a button?

Gertude

Gertude moved into the park, eyes wide at the array of colors and delights set before her. Elizabeta was by her side should she need a translator, but for right now, she was just enjoying the sights. Picking up the half-half silver/blue egg, she held it towards the canine. Watch this! She didn't come from a place with Easter, but judging by the egg shards littering the ground, it didn't take her long to figure out she was suppose to break it.

Which is exactly what she did when she slammed it against the table.

Maybe she was a bit too enthusiastic...Maybe.

Gertude was probably one of the few who took a very direct approach with her egg. The half and half silver/blue egg quite cleanly shattered, scattering pieces of shell on the ground and the table, glittering in the sunlight.

And left in its wake was a necklace, with a circular amulet for a pendant.Quite a pretty thing, and amazingly coordinated to Gertude's clothing!

Mildred

Mildred was sitting down at one of the tables, having wondered in before Cain and the skeleton did get an eyebrow raised. But she was quickly distracted by a decked out familiar running by and then by Akemi bringing to her a delicate looking white crystalline egg. I demand that you crack this lovely egg, Mildred. Though not too roughly. I think the pieces would look dazzling against a nice dark blue scarf that I expect you to afix them too.

Rolling her eyes skyward, Mildred took the egg and tapped it against the table to break it. "Yes Akemi. Anything else I can get you your highness?" The canine just shrugged her shoulders as she watched the breaking process, delight dancing in her eyes.

Mildred's egg - or rather Akemi's choice of egg as it were - would make an almost musical chiming as it was cracked against the table, kindly breaking into easy-to use square shards perfect for sewing onto a scarf later, with a little fine-tuning. Inside was what looked like some kind of scale, like from a very, very large fish. But the scale would be dry, cracked, badly in need of water.

Tide

Khareesh was right. Tide was loving this. The colors. The laughter. The beautiful eggs. Coming up behind Khareesh, she wrapped her arms around him and laid her cheek against his back for a moment. She was beyond excited to see him walking around once more and would be internally grateful to Melonwei and all that she had done for him.

Releasing him and coming around, her eyes caught sight of the Underwater ripple egg. It truly did look like a ripple and that fascinated her as she reached over and picked it up.

"I think you are suppose to break it mom." Jason had come up on the other side of Khareesh and stared at one of the edible eggs with mischief in his eyes. He would never be too old for sweet sit seemed. "Like this." Reaching out and grabbing a random egg, he cracked it open to reveal candy which he quickly squirreled away into a napkin. "I got lucky this time! Better than your whistle Khareesh. At least I can eat mine." Grinning at the couple, he would then move away to go raid the other tables for sweets.

Tide would smile and shake her head for a moment at her son. "Getting him to bed tonight will be impossible. Or highly easy. Depends on when the crash happens." Grinning, she held the egg in her hand for a moment, turning it this way and that. "Seems such a shame to break it...But..." Placing her thumbs on the shell, she would press lightly to crack the fragile shell open to reveal what lay nestled within.

Oh yes, plenty of sweets to ensure that children (both actual children and child-like adults) would remain hyper well into the night.

Tide's egg choice, probably one that was almost guaranteed from the start, would actually feel cool like the waves and have a faintly salty scent. The waves would be slightly upraised, and feel loose, like they could be... turned along the surface?

Jeremi

Jeremi just stopped by the park for a quick look-see. Easter wasn't a strange holiday to him and he always did love dyeing the eggs when it came around in the spring. It was always a nice splash of color that was sorely needed after the drabness of winter.

Walking among the people already there and giving a smile and a wave to the ones he knew, he scooped up the decoupage flower egg. Turning it over his hands, he moved over to lean against the table by his cousin and her companion. "Hey Mildred. Doesn't this bring back memories?"

"If by memories, you mean me trouncing you every year in the egg hunt, then yeah." Jeremi would just laugh as he did his best to crack his egg in as few pieces as possible. He was hoping to save it and show it to Kemori later after all. It really was a fine egg.

"Yeah. Exactly what I meant, Mildred. But I always did get the most candy."

"Only cause you made it." Mildred would pick a jelly bean and flick it at the healer's head, smiling as he ducked to avoid the projectile.

Given Jeremi's healer's hands, it would be a simple thing to crack the egg all but neatly in half and separate the pieces away. Laying within, neatly wrapped in a tiny square of orchid silk, was a tiny spiky ball, the kind that would expand to considerably larger than its original size.

Fredericke

Fredericke sprinted through the park, laughing as she did so. Look at this! And that! And oooooo! Her twirled around, her lavender sundress spinning about her legs. She was having the time of her life at the party. She had round out about it through the drums (and this time, there were no weird hiccups, maybe she was getting better at translating them), and had left immediately. Rune could catch up if he wanted too, but there was no way she was missing this.

Seeing everyone cracking open eggs, she picked up the orange-green spots egg to do the same, excited to see what lay within.

Well, of all the things that Fredericke might have thought would lay within the egg she chose - candy, coins, glitter - it was a fair bet that a miniature telescope wouldn't be it. But that's what it was, complete with lenses that were likely functional. And look! The IF kindly avoided putting shoe polish on the eyepiece! Have a look?

Frisk

The 'dice' as it were rolled and tumbled, each blank side seemingly taking a turn being upright. But despite all of them being blank, when it finally came to a stop there was an image visible: a necklace with white beads and tribal-looking pendants. The image would glow, and then the entire dice would pick up the light until it suddenly winked out of existence... and left behind a Bone Talisman!

Dominic

The dust would shimmer and glimmer like glitter as the zombie threw it up into the sky, then start swirling as it caught on an unfelt breeze. Like something out of an animated fairy tale the dust would start spinning faster and faster until it coalesced into a crystal of equally-glimmering colors, a Prismatic Crystal!

Nec

The marbles, made of glass by the sound of them striking one another lightly, would clink and roll around on the space made on the plate for a moment... then a moment more... then yet another moment, far too long for the momentum the simple action should have caused. Then the marbles all began to move, forming into a strange shape before shattering into dust, that then brightened into a star-like shimmering before shooting through the Changeling! With this impact came a sense of part of Nec's very spirit being touched upon, the part that had seen too much, was in its own way far wiser than it should be.

A moment later a leonine nose touched his shoulder from behind.

Though you are young, your soul is not so much so. And I am now home.

Telmaril

Finally with some swaying and concentration, the egg finally sat steady in Telmaril's hand.

(Whether or not he looked silly as he'd suspected was up for debate.)

With the egg finally balanced it cracked slightly in three placed, like an upside-down T. Hinges on the horizontal ends, otherwise invisible, permitted the shell to open and lay open like a fancy jewelry box.

Laying within the now-open egg was a piece of paper, decorated in gold leaf boarder with gilded writing denoting it as a Voucher worth 50 Shop Coins! Nice!

Dust

The tiny copper pieces slid back and forth rapidly under Crow's clever directions, eventually tucking one another the other and revealing what lay within.

And what that something was, was a shimmering light that whirled and zipped around Dust before going through him. Seems Crow would have some company, both in the form of an avian Bonded for the Guardian and in that this one reached into their shared companion to touch, and become a part of, his soul.

You have been through much, the Familiar said, an elegant swan with wise eyes, and much is hidden or lost to you. But I will help you remember it all.

Jess

The stars began to shine once Jess had to missing once in place, as if the Solar Sailor was happy to be whole once more. The egg's light died down to a mild glimmering, staying pretty but the egg otherwise didn't change.

But a new presence was suddenly there beside her. A large, feathered and furry one.

Even this soon after meeting you, m'lady, I can tell you have been a fighter, aiming for what you want. The Mindvoice was regal and unmistakably Gryphon. The Shield Gryphon stood somewhat awkwardly, looking around as if he wasn't the best social creature around. But then he lowered his head in both greeting and acknowledgement of fealty. I will be honor if I may fight your battles at your side.

Cain

The button press did cause the egg to open, splitting clean in half in the skeleton's hand. But thankfully for Cain's sake there was no explosion of confetti or glitter, nothing nearly so messy. What was inside was simply a pair of feathers, each one tawny gold. They blew away and vanished in a flash of light, and what was left in their place were two creatures, Sphinxes!

Well, this is quite interesting a puzzle. one, with slight gray in his mane, mused with a confident smirk. How does a skeleton walk without flesh?

Less something I am concerned with, the other replied with a friendly nod of his leonine head. but more I wonder the riddle would such a skeleton have room for two brothers such as us in his life?

Gertude

The amulet would feel comfortable around Gertude's neck as she worked on gathering the bits of shell together; thankfully none of them had flown too wild or into any of the food. A place on her arm would warm suddenly, the place where a rune earned in opposition to an ancient, trapped Draconic tyrant rested. For a moment it would even be slightly visible through Gertude's clothing before the light and warmth faded.

And a voice would touch into her mind.

I noted your valor before, and have observed that you are both one who will stand up to protect those who cherish while asst the same time desiring peace. Just as do I. High above the gathering a silver Mottle Female blinked out of Between and circled, sunlight glinting off of her scales. I will await you at the Weyr, so please enjoy the party as long as you like, my Rider.

Mildred

Like a fairly neat magic trick the punch turned to water as the scale touched it, and the scale soaked it up like a sponge. It retook its more natural shape, smoothing out and all of the cracks and nicks fused back together, leaving it whole and unblemished.

Then the entire glass more or less detonated, water gysering out of it to rain down upon everything in a torrential downpour, soaking everything that wasn't on the table.

Then a broad, tall Zaithand was at her side, equally tripping and the same color as the revitalized (and notable disappeared) scale.

Ah, finally! A warrior after my own heart! The sea-cat grinned a toothy grin. Our future shall be glorious!

Tidesweep

Round and round, round and round, the waves wound and wove under Tide's command. It continued to spin until it was almost hypnotic in its rhythm.

And so it was only when a nose touched Tide's elbow that she might realize she had company in the form of a half-equine, half-sea slug.

Oh, the tales we will share. I can't wait!

Huh, well at least she could keep the now-ceramic 'medatation egg!'

Jeremi

Perhaps it was a quirk of the IF, but with each expansion and contraction of the ball its colors changed and it even made funny sounds on occasion. But it was only when Jeremi expanded it all the way, far further than it should physically have been able to, that he found like a really neat magic trick suddenly there was something inside the dramatically stretched sphere: a Gryphon.

Mmm, you are a clever one, the Gryphon said, ducking head and squeezing wings to carefully extradite himself from the 'cage.' I think between the two of us things shall go wonderfully, my lord.

Fredericke

Looking through the eyepiece Fredericke would see everything up close like one might expect. It would be rather fun...

Then suddenly she would turn to one side and see an eye, very close up.

Very close up!

Hmmm, you're an interesting one, Mindspoke a voice in a tone that was low with a faint rasp, a voice that sounded very dangerous. I suppose the question is just HOW interesting things will be? Shall we find out?

Belial

Belial tossed the ball of water in his hand experimentally a few times, rolling his eyes at the IF's absurdity. But illogic could only go so far before logic had to reassert itself. Belial had a ball of water. The flowers on the table were drooping. Logically, Belial brought his illogical ball of water to the drooping plants to nourish them back to health.

With perhaps startling vivacity the plants sprang (almost literally) back to life, springing upright and their colors brightening beautifully.

Then he had a warm, somewhat damp head bumping against his shoulder gently.

Collector of knowledge, as am I. I think we will get along well together.

Shrayla

The bell let out a very pretty jingling, a bright, happy sound to mix with the general chatter and laughter of those celebrating the festivities.

And suddenly Shrayla would have her hand latched onto by of all things a rather insistent green mottle firelizard who was trying to get at the shiny little bell. Oh, and while he was at it, he wanted you too!

Khareesh

Shyrala wasn't the only thing to come calling at the whistle's sounding. And it seemed to pierce his ears just the same.

Ah! What an annoying sound! A Sphinx shook his wild mane as he seemed to just suddenly appear next to Khareesh. Well, now that you've called me, I think I'll stick around you for a bit. There might be opportunities for interesting things.

Melonwei

Opening the locket was a simple thing, and laying placidly within was a tiny magic stone: a Small Runic Gizzard Stone, perfect for a firelizard who might want to breathe another langauge.

Well, perhaps Linah's wish would be granted, but only time would tell if that would happen. What would be made clear very quickly would be that even as the tiny wisp of smoke rose an ebony canine would come to stand before her, looking at her with both scrutiny and cunning.

The whirling toy spin in a dizzying speed a bit faster and longer than a single breath would have permitted. And when it slowed someone was standing beside her offering a plate of treats.

With everything you've got going on, the female Zaithand said cheerily, perhaps I might be a little help.

Arieh

The cookie broke apart with a satisfying crack, and the fortune within read "Good things sometimes come in Small Packages!"

Now laying on the table in front of him was a Blue Mushroom!

Jenna

Searching the vase would quickly yield results as a single bloom within would remain closed while the rest were open. At a touch the petals unfurled – maybe it had taken Jenna to be some kind of princess? - and a tiny vial of a shimmering liquid fell into her palm, an Aeon's Kiss!


Rylan

The shot connected perfectly with the bulls-eye, making a victorious melody when it stuck in the middle. It was a fairly proud moment, one that was echoed by a Mindvoice suddenly from his side as a creature approached with a flurry of feathers and fur.

Well shot, m'lord! The Gryphon nodded proudly. And I can tell by your attire that you are of the Harpers, the traveling lorekeepers of the Weyr. I shall be able to help you greatly.
