The dual scents of magic and dust greet you as you enter the shop. Each shelf is stocked to the fullest with all sorts of item, ranging from racks of weapons and shields to suits of armor and shelves upon shelves of knick-knacks and the religious iconography of countless faiths. There’s even a library in the back with more shelves of tomes and scrolls galore, and an entire apothecary off to the other side. Up nearest the sales counter are the jewelry displays, featuring all sorts of sparkling baubles.
The shopkeeper himself is a 4’8” Avariel, or winged elf, pale of skin, white of hair, with the wings of a bird. His topaz-blue eyes sparkle with merriment as you come into his shop.
”Hello and welcome to Asphir’s Worldly Wonders! I’m Asphir Elandinai, owne- well, okay, renter and proprietor of this humble little shop. My shop features all sorts of relics and antiquities both rare and unique! No matter what you’re looking for, I guarantee you I have it here. If not on the shelves, give me a tick and I’ll check my back inventory. Gotta warn you, though, some of these items in here are cursed, so be careful what you touch and what you take home with you. And if it’s too much trouble, I do take refunds.
I take the same Gold Coins that my landlady Kalatis does, so if you find those in your travels, I’d appreciate the commerce. I’ve got rent to pay, after all. I take them at the same exchange rate she does -- that’s a one to five ratio.
So go on and browse as much as you’d like! Just tell me when you find something you’d like or if you want me to grab something from the back. My prices vary depending, so let me know what you want and I’ll tell you how much it’ll be.”
Asphir grins at you enigmatically and waggles his silvery eyebrows. ”I also do special orders, you know. Specialty items. You tell me what you want and I can make it happen. For a basic cost of twenty coins, I can get you any type of item you so desire with one or two effects. Any extra effects on top of that’s gonna cost you five coins a pop.”
You look around the display shelves, but nothing catches your eye, and Asphir’s offer of custom orders sounds just a little too flashy. ”Well, if you’re the gambling type… Ten coins gets you a box from the back. I make you no guarantees, however. It may be insanely powerful. It may be insanely cursed. It may be inanely dull. The stock in the back hasn’t been sorted yet and you’d be putting ten coins on a total game of roulette. But it might just be worth everything, who knows?”
Every shelf of Asphir’s Worldly Wonders is packed with all sorts of items. Apparel, icons, weapons, instruments, books, scrolls, mechanisms, even potions and medications. ”Look around, look around, I’ve got everything you can imagine laid out for your perusal! My prices start at five coins for the cheapest items and go up from there depending on quality. I also offer a fifteen coin discount for cursed items, because, well, they’re cursed. But the price of each item will be on the card next to it on the shelf, so you can take a look before deciding whether to buy.”

The Display Shelves
Acidic Trident of Frost Breath -- 15 Coins
This masterwork trident drips acid off of its wrought tines and imbues the wielder with the breath of a silver dragon. It changes size to always be the ideal length for its lawful wielder, and it features a spearhead on the side of the haft opposite the fork-like tines to maximize its lethality in the right hands. Its acid can eat through nearly any material, and it allows its wielder to breathe a cone of intense frost five times daily.
Sylvan Rugged Bracelet of Stone Breath -- 40 Coins
This elven bracelet looks unusually made for wear-and-tear, and putting it on makes the wearer feel sturdier too. A lot sturdier. Even a frail librarian could climb the most harrowing mountains with just a little bit of help from this woven hide bracelet, but that’s not what makes it truly special, or dangerous. No, what has it on Asphir’s top shelf is that it imbues its wearer with the ability to, five times in a day before the bracelet will have to rest and recharge, exhale a cloud of petrifying gas that will turn all organic matter within it (excluding the bracelet’s wearer) to stone.
Spiritual Living Codex -- 25 coins
Speech: Italic#335691
Bound in leather and embossed with archaic imagery, this book at first seems beautifully crafted but otherwise unremarkable... until you hear it talk and all expectations of it being a normal book go out the proverbial window. What may be a selling feature or may be an annoying flaw is that this living book is like having a priest that fits on your shelf. Always with a gentle word to say but also always with something spiritual and some flavor of religious -- a parable for every situation and a verse for every problem. If the book's quiet spiritualism isn't off-putting, however, it's a deep well of all sorts of arcane knowledge.
