"My, isn't this an interesting little place?" the guardian spirit hummed to no one in particular, flicking a strand of hair out of his face. He really should get something to tie it back, but where was the fun in that when it felt nicer to let it blow in the breeze? Not that there was any breeze here, the air was a bit too still for his liking but that was beside the point. He didn't mind being called all the way from China, necessarily; it wasn't like he was the only guardian spirit there who could help trans people get what they wished for and reduce the body dysphoria they might feel if not eliminate it altogether. But there had to be a reason he was called, and Yáng wouldn't mind finding out what that reason was. -------- Any creature is fine so long as they get along with Yáng!
Well, the Veiled Shrine, whatever it might appear like on this particular day, might not be in the mood to reveal any of its reasons to Yáng, but it would clearly become evident that someone was in the mood for something -
Namely, dancing!
In the middle a deer-like creature, a Nadur, was happily prancing, skipping, and bounding around the Shrine's ever-present circular pool. There was no music to accompany his fun, but that didn't seem to bother him a bit; perhaps he danced to a song that sang in his head. His natural, brown coloration and whimsical green markings clearly identified him as a Fawn of the species, and equally bright green eyes caught sight of Yáng on a spin and he rose onto his hind legs, front lightly kicking beckoningly.
Come! Join me – life is worth being merry about!
Life is a Dance Fawn Nadur
Mindspeech: Color #72e347
Some people take life really too seriously. They fret and fuss, worrying over every little thing and trying to control every second, every breath.
All that does is take away the joy of life and tax the spirit with undue stress, or so goes this Nadur's philosophy!
Life is indeed a dance to him, and though it is in a sense to all of his rank for him there is a particular intent to his prancing and jolly. That intent is adaptation, flexibility. The ability to take whatever happens, whether the IF or a Wild Dragon attack or a massive fire or even just a bad day, and flow with it. Sometimes he knows he will lead, and things will be easy as he sets the pace, and sometimes he will be the following partner and may struggle to keep up. But regardless he smiles through it all, hopefully leading others into his understanding and the same joyful dance throughout all of life's twists and turns across the ballroom floor, perhaps learning some things along the way.
He stands at the taller of the Fawn spectrum at four feet not including his velveted, rounded horns. Soft, walnut-brown fur covers his deer body except for the lightly pink insides of his ears and his black nose. His throat and belly are a slightly lighter shade, closer to peanut powder, and his eyes are a brilliant, merry emerald green. His eyes match the thin lines twining up his legs to the knees and that appropriately dance in dotted loops along his back.
((Inspiration Song, mostly the Chorus but the rest suits))
The guardian spirit smiled, the Fawn's joy infectious. He began to hum along, his body moving to a beat that went unheard of by all except perhaps himself and his new friend, who seemed to adore music just as much as he did.
"You're quite the dancer for someone with four legs," he said with a giggle as his hair whipped around him. "Do you have a name, my friend?" Yáng glanced over at the Nadur, his eyes bright with amusement and joy at being able to indulge in music with someone who took such joy in it. "If not, then I believe Tiàowŭ would suit you perfectly." It meant 'to dance' in his native language after all, and he wouldn't mind traveling this new land with a kindred spirit. He only hoped that the other would be accepting of such a name if he didn't have one of his own already.
