Appearance: The Mortiteos is a parasitic shelf fungus that has a rusty reddish-brown cap and white underside when it is alive. When it is undead, the fungus glows and the cap turns a ghostly grey. It stops glowing when its host dies and it runs out of nutrients to sustain itself, thus attaining true death.
Habitat: As an engineered lifeform, the Mortiteos has no real natural habitat, but it only takes root in living flesh.
Uses: The “Dead Devourer”, the Mortiteos is a mushroom cultivated especially by the Withered Mask of Kassan’ha as a versatile weapon. Spores are blown at the intended victim, and the spell to awaken them is spoken. Once they take root, the spell to kill the mushrooms is spoken, and the parasitic Dead Devourer dies, which is when it becomes truly dangerous, because when it is undead, it feasts upon the life force of its victim until no life force is left.
Warnings: Do NOT touch. The spores are harmless prior to the activation spell, but once activated, the Mortiteos is a weapon and it does not discriminate.
Appearance: Scrimweed is a sprawling groundcover kind of plant that is both invasive and territorial, quickly crowding out and choking off other flora in a carpet-like spread of silvery-green fronds that stick low to the ground. Short, dense hook-shaped hairs on the leaves make scrimweed vaguely sticky to the touch, much like galium.
Habitat: Anywhere there is ground, there can be scrimweed. It has no particular preference for sunlight or shade, can subsist on very little water or cope with excessive amounts of water, does not discriminate between rich soil or sand.
Uses: Every powerful spell needs a powerful reagent. Only the rarest, most powerful spells require a reagent this powerful. The irony, of course, is that scrimweed is a common weed.
Warnings: Scrimweed is a highly territorial weed and will choke out any other plant in its path. It is also highly toxic if ingested raw. Before using in any ingestible format, boil well if fresh and toast well if dried.
Appearance: Firevine looks much like traditional ivy but for thicker vines and leaves in an ashy blackened coloration veined with cracks of reddish orange that glow like seams of magma just under the surface. It roots high and hangs down, crawling toward the heat of lava as if drawing nourishment from it.
Habitat: Firevine grows exclusively in active volcanoes and other places lava and/or magma can be found.
Uses: Lacking any medicinal or edible qualities, Firevine can nonetheless be utilized in the creation of fireproof strappings and fabrics. It has an incredible tolerance for heat and its fibers are extremely strong.
Warnings: Use extreme caution when gathering Firevine, as its native habitat is immensely hazardous. Falling into an active volcano is a distinct possibility.
Appearing over night, it starts as a gelatinous, white, semi-opaque membrane covering a ball of what will be the final fruit of the fungi. Over 24 hours the membrane will deteriorate and the fruiting parts containing the spores will unfold. It looks like an alien (hence the name) that's fallen out of the sky, with 4-6 bright red tentacle-like arms spreading in a starfish form but raised off the ground. Each arm vary between five and twenty centimeters, bright red with darker spots developing the last 12 hours of 'blooming'. The fruit or 'bloom' last 24 hours during which the spores are spread by wind, then dies off and decomposes fast.
Habitat: Aliena will grow at any time except in the cold of winter. It has been found everywhere from sea level to the highest peak, with size correlating to elevation, the smaller ones found at higher altitudes. It seems to prefer grasslands but specimens have been found in trees, between rocks, on roof tops. The only requirement is moisture so you will not find Aliena in desert environment.
Uses: none is known, but spores are suspected to have hallucinogenic properties.
Warnings: young ones (before blooming) are poisonous, causing influenza-like symptoms along with severe stomach pains, though no deaths have been reported.
Appearance: A small weed with a single thin stem strong enough to support a collection of lance-shaped leaves in a rosette on the top. The leaves are in sets of threes with five sets branching in a star shape off the main stem. Flowers are small and white with a bright yellow core and red stamen, but so small the plant does not make a good choice for decoration. Flowering happens during late summer. Reaches 50 cm at most at optimum conditions, normal is between 20 and 30 cm and a diameter always 1/3 of the height.
As its name suggest, this plant will move to a certain wavelength of vibrations, or 'dance'. Drums seem to be the most effective, as well as some dragons' humming. It will swing the crown in a clockwise circle created by the main stem for as long as the vibrations continue, and is especially sensitive during blooming. It is possible the movement has an effect on propagation.
Habitat: Woodlands and shaded areas. North side of buildings and other structures. No special requirement for soil or nutrition, can be found in most conditions except wetlands and desert-like areas.
Poppy Appearance There are two varieties of petals both are useful, one is brilliant blood red and the other is vibrant yellow. The Milk of the Poppy is made from the roots of this plant, it is the stems and the petals that make the flower well known for what it is.

It can come into bloom at any time of the year.
Habitat: It tends to grow in grassy areas and forests where the wind is gentle.
