Nec hadn't expected to get picked out like that, his head snapping around to look at the curator with a 'me?' look. 'Zenthim' he'd heard someone call him.
At least his newly assigned partner was easy to spot. She was the only other he'd spotted with not just one, but a whole pack of Hellhounds! He started making his way over from his spot by the wall, weaving between fancy dresses and formal things and coming up to the woman who'd also been heading for him. He smirked at her short speech of greeting. "Some men are beasts in disguise. Been a little while now, but i'm not that out of practice. We'll get what we need when we find'em." He turned and headed for the door, Sealgair already outside and sorting through the scents after having stopped by several of the empty display cases for a sniff.
"I'm Nec by the way. Don't think i've seen you before, but then i haven't exactly been here a lot lately."
When they came outside Sealgair would be intently search the ground by a building, obviously having found something of interest. It remained to see if it was the right track, considering how many had been in the room and left their smell everywhere.
"Nice to meet you, Nec. Shrayla." The werewolf in question pursed her lips and cocked her head, following her erstwhile partner out. "I suppose I also am a beast in disguise, when you put it like that. Don't s'pose you would have seen me around much. I tend to be pretty hard to find."
Sinvyl and Tebimar were on Sealgair's heels, sniffing right behind her. Nathyrra turned to look at Nec and Shrayla, who were, in her estimation, moving too slowly.
Shrayla, considering you can smell this trail as well as we can, why were you not already here?
"Got half the legs, need double the walking time," Shrayla quipped with a grin. "And it's a good thing there's a lot of us here because little house has a divergent scent trail. They're trying to throw us off. How cute!"
I'll take the thief-trail that leads into the cellar, offered Mordred, maw smoking.
And I will make sure Mordred leaves survivors, assured Nym. It would be terribly difficult to interrogate a charred corpse!
"I guess that leaves us two-leggers with the inside of the house," Shrayla guessed, "unless you've got any better ideas, Nec?"
He didn't. And he didn't have as sensitive sense of smellas the hounds or, apparently, Shayla. "Beast in disguise, huh? I'll give you that, you don't smell all human but you're not a Changeling either. But you don't need to be able to physically change to be a hidden monster either" he shrugged.
I will investigate the perimeter to see if some may have left. If not i will join you in the house Sealgair added and left without a sound. "Inside it is, i guess." He turned to the entrance, studying the ground carefully.
