"Damn... Humans can be... Yeah, not gonna say that out loud, it's just evil. I guess not forgetting where you come from is... Okay. But the rest. I never got why human beings can't just accept there's other intelligent beings on the planet."
"Well, they're not the same here. Raf's boyfriend-or I guess husband except they're not the regular married thing, I don't remember what he called it... Anyway. Raf's an angel and Belial is a demon. Need any more convincing?" He smirked at Dominic and held out a hand to see if one of his Kirava wanted a pet.
"They fear what they don't know," Dominic answered simply. "Trying to get help from anyone looking the way I did after I died...well, you can imagine how well that went." The zombie chuckled quietly though it lacked any mirth. "But I've put that behind me right now. Why not enjoy the beach with me?" He tilted his head and the three children fluttered over, taking Necthan's invitation to perch on his horns while the eldest alighted on his hand. "We have plenty of building material," the zombie added, motioning to the sand with a slightly more genuine smile on his face.
"I can imagine. Vividly." If Dominic paid attention he might note that Nec absolutely knew, he just didn't elaborate.
"Building material?" Stroking the Kirava's head carefully he cocked his head at the zombie, feeling the slight weight from the ones on his horns. "I sense a sand castle coming on."
Kimasa chittered with amusement, both young and adult, though they wouldn't make fun of their bonded for wanting to build a sand castle; it had been a long time since he had been able to relax this much. "Do you want to join me?" Dominic asked, his cheeks slightly flushed in embarrassment at having been called out but wanting to make one nonetheless.
"I gotta warn you, I haven built one in..." He paused to think about it. "Wow, two and a half century. Damn." Chuckling, he got up and offered a ha d to pull Dominic up as well. "Think you gotta design it."
"Then maybe we could make a couple here. It'll be fun, I think," Dominic said with a slight smile, taking Necthan's hand. He almost felt like the taller male was a big brother to him, figuratively as well as literally.
"Sure. Could be fun. Just dont laugh at my wreck." He winked as he pulled Dominic up, almost lifting him off the ground before letting go and starting down the beach. Up here the sand was dry and useless, they needed to go closer to the water to have a chance at building anything.
Dominic nodded, smiling slightly and he walked over to where Necthan was headed, though he was careful not to get too close to the water due to the desire or lack thereof to get salt in his injuries, bandages or no bandages. He did, however, carefully scoop up some of the wet sand to begin making a castle.
The Kimasa family observed their bonded's and Necthan's building with some curiosity, and one of the twins fluttered down to help by carrying over rocks and shells that they found in order for the two of them to decorate their castles. Dominic smiled at the little bat, chuckling softly as he took a spiral shell and placed it on one of the somewhat lumpy 'towers' he was making. "Thank you," he hummed, and the little bat chittered joyfully at being able to help.
The little bat squeaked and nearly toppled over, not having expected the hellhound to approach them, but Dominic chuckled quietly. "I think we have plenty, you don't have to get any more." He wasn't sure if Necthan was serious or if he was just teasing the hellhound like she was teasing her bonded.
Sealgair growled at him for being asked to fetch like some regular dog, and Nec just grinned. It was obvious this was their usual routine. One would say something, the other would growl or bit or snipe back.
"I don't think whatever that bed might be made of would be good for a dog, hellhound or not," Dominic said, a slight smile on his face since it did seem to be just banter between the two of them. "Though this might be a lot easier with a toy bucket or trowel... Might there be a toy outlet in the village?" He still wasn't sure if he was ready to go there yet, but maybe when it wasn't so crowded he would stop by.
It wouldn't be for eating. She gave him a sideways look, and she was definitely smirking.
"Not the first time she's mauled my bed." Nec patted the top of his mound, having decided to make a foundation first and add towers and such later. "Can't say I've paid attention to it... Maybe?" Come to think of it, he hadn't seen a lot of kids either. A few, of course, but not many compared to the size of the village or weyr.
