And after a considerable absence, finally a new news post! And this is a BIG one!
First, if you are viewing the default theme you might notice it's rather... sweet lol! If you would like to change your viewed theme, you can do that by going to your profile, click 'edit,' and go to settings. (Site name will be in banner shortly.)
Secondly, do you hear that? The sound of birds chirping, Athids buzzing, a certain Kitsune flirting with a certain healer...
It's the Month of Love once again, and that means...
CUDDLEBUGS!!
Yes, the Athid mutation returns once more to the Weyr, bringing with them their cuddly affections. But they aren't alone this year! Come find out more in the Fairgrounds!
The Cuddlebugs aren't alone either! Three types of loving pairs of your choosing await their forever homes. Come claim them here!
And something NEW has appeared in the Weyr, something that has been whispered and talked about, but never before seen... until now.
Introducing... HYBRIDS!
These creatures are just what the name sounds: take two creatures of certain types, and when they cross you get something entirely new! More information on this will be coming shortly, but in brief there are these types that can create hybrids:
Canines:
Hellhound
Illaro
Kitsune
Mistwatcher
Equine:
Caradras
Firemane
Hippocampi
Hippogryph
Pegasus
Starmane
Unicorn
Avian:
Phoenix
Roc
These can but only with creatures listed with them:
Zaithand with Hippocampi and Sphinx
Sphinx with Hippogryph, Zaithand, and Pegasus
Gargoyle: Mostly compatible with other hybrid-capable species
Nadur with the other 'Nature Spirits' - Kitsune, Sahrimnae and Roc
Unicorn and Nadur (specifically makes a Kirin)
Gryphons with equines, sphinxes and zaithandi.
Though there are no crosses yet for Kirava, Sharpblades, or Astrum these may be discovered in time.
And until then... some hybrids have revealed themselves to a certain pair of Weyr lovers and their child, and are awaiting homes! Go see if you can answer their questions to their satisfaction and earn a new friend in this inaugural Bonding!
