Acer, the Jump in the Line Male Steam
Mindspeech: Bold #00ff00
Theres no such thing as a downtrodden Steam, and Acer is living proof of it. While he belongs to a rank known for their energy, he goes above and beyond the call of duty whenever the opportunity presents itself. Why walk when you can bounce? Why talk when you can run your words together at the speed of sound? Why do anything if youre not going to turn it up to 11? Hes never content with mediocrity, Acer, and poor Raferties will have the headaches to prove it. In many aspects Acer is more like a Petroleum than a Steam; while he certainly means well and would never wish harm on anyone, he doesnt seem to realize how aggravating his antics can be. Worse yet, he has no sense of social decorum. He does what he does and cant be dissuaded, no matter how many people he annoys or inconveniences in the process. After all, its their job to keep up, and can he really be blamed for their shortcomings? Suffice to say Acer can be somewhat lacking in empathy, especially when hes excited about something. Under Raferties expert tutelage he may mellow and mature somewhat, but until that day hes going to be a right pain in the ass. Its a good thing hes so genuinely sweet and lovable, or he might find a way to test even Rafs legendary patience. At least things will never be dull!
A surprising number of Steams take on beetle-esque forms, and Acer is no exception. Specifically, hes taken on the form of a scarab beetle, complete with hooked antennae and sturdy carapace. Hes stout and solid as few insects are, perfectly capable of taking a tumble and walking away unscathed. (...and given the hijinks he gets up to, thats almost certainly a good thing.) Larger than many of his rank, Acer stretches a solid nine inches from antennae to elytra. Most of his rounded frame is crafted from what appears to be a rather dull white enamel, accented here and there with fanciful springs and rivets and extraneous gears. What makes him stand out, though, is the rich opalescent iridescence that spreads over the outer cover of his wings.
