K'tiro was a creature who came and went as he pleased, so though bonded to him Anari wasn't ever sure exactly where he was or when he'd make and appearance. She just knew that eventually he'd come back to the Haven area, seemingly checking on her if she were honest.
This tone though she sensed that there was another reason for the beast's visit. She saw distress and urgency in his flashing eyes and in the way he pawed the ground, then when she'd asked him wheat was wrong he simply picked her up by the back of her shirt, flipped her into his back, and flew off with her! Thankfully Anari was quick enough to grab hold of his fur and settle in for the ride.
K'tiro flew into the Wastes following a silvery trail of mineral in the stone that from their height almost looked like a river, to a rocky valley where tall stones stood like sentinels. And when he landed and she saw what he'd found his haste made sense. Carefully the junior Weyrwoman slid from her Bonded's back and approached the closest one, gently touching the unique surface and listening to the Mindvoices speaking to her, questioning, seeking.
About half an hour later Anari strode through the Weyr with a purpose, looking for someone whom she believed should've been just on his way to a turn in the drum heights. Sure enough she caught her target just about to ascend the stairs.
"Harper Rylan," she spoke up as she slightly quickened her pace to meet him. She noted there were a few people in the halls; good. She could fulfill a promise to a Voidling in the process.
It was one of the rare days Rylan had the halls mostly to himself. The other Harpers were busy elsewhere. And then he heard his name called, and slowed so that his shadow could catch up with him. "Ah, junior weyrwoman Anari, is it not? May I help you?"
Anari held out a slip of paper.
"I have an important message that I need drummed, and I know you're the Harper to drum it for me." The message wasn't necessarily simple either. But she did trust him to not make the mistakes his older brother might, and mistakes in this case might cost lives.
Rylan caught his breath, then sighed, nodding. "If it's that important, then I am definitely the brother you want drumming this." He didn't mean to sound arrogant. It was just...Tomlin had a reputation and it wasn't flattering. "I'll take this up forthwith, ma'am."
At the bottom of the drum heights, there was a bin of padded armor, of which Rylan availed himself. It was made especially to keep the vibrations from the Harper Drum from making soup of the drummer's inner workings. Somehow Tomlin went up daily and drummed multiple messages every hour and he was fine, but other Harpers were prone to serious injury. If anyone was curious, that was most of why Tomlin maintained his job despite being so bad at it. But it was Rylan's turn this time. He climbed the drum heights until he got to the singularly massive drum that would send its message over the entirety of the Haven Protected Territories, got out the drumsticks, and got to work.
As the drums rolled Anari smiled to herself, heading back to where K'tiro waited. Definitely the right brother for the job. She'd remember this next time as well.
Yes, what K'tiro had found and shown to Anari were eggs like neither of them had ever seen before as those who answered the call would find out.
In total there were nine eggs, the smallest of which was only about a yard long and the largest of which was nearly big enough for Anari to climb into. But none of them had normal shells.
One looked to be entirely clockwork.
One looked to be utterly covered in feathers.
One seemed to be made of swirled oil paints.
One looked to be more flower than egg as it looked like a folded rosebud, save for its distinct egg shape.
One was covered in crystal.
One looked like a stained glass window.
One looked like it was covered in fur that shifted colors when touched.
One was reflective like a mirror.
What was inside? Well, definitely something, but they weren't telling!

Welcome everyone to a Bonding! What kind of Bonding? Well, that you'll find out at the end! But here's a hint: it's one of the more expensive creatures, and I haven't requested Dragon Homework!
Ok, that was two but yeah.
Round One: Have your character enter the area - feel free to chat with Anari if you want - but you're free to do as you please. Interact with the eggs, explore the rocky valley for clues, sit and watch, whatever!
The Rules:
Aside from the usual (Site/Proboards TOS, you know the ones)…
*Up to TWO characters per player may attend.
*You can bring Bondeds, but anything larger than a horse might have trouble fitting in the valley. They can perch on the rocky cliffside though.
More Rules may follow.
Also, the italics part of the intro were helpfully provided by Heron, as Harper Rylan is his character. Anari is keeping her promise, Shy!
