Percival didn't know what brough him out here alone but here he was, then he saw the creatures coming up out of the water. They were young and smallish, still interesting looking and they were not what he'd thought of as any known creature but they reminded him of Seacats. That meant he knew what he should do and he walked up with Talith who was flying over head, the young Silver was finally settling into her home with her bonded. They were attending lessons and now they could help these young creatures find their bondeds, the mere fact that there were the things coming up at the water's edge. He smiled as he approached but as he did the dark blue-purple slipped back into the water almost like it didn't want to be seen.
"Talith call the Weyr." He said to his dragon as he stood at her side and watched as the other two slipped back into the water. They were near a large body of water not quite a lake but also not the ocean but for the moment he stayed nearby and waited for Talith to call on the people.
There are Zaithandi here near the water, come and see if one would like you as their bonded! Bring fish that might help. Talith called out to anyone nearby and hopefully that would gather them bondeds for the baby Zaithandi. Let's try this again, three little baby Seacats Zaithandi looking for homes. They're here to see who shows up and tries to offer them a home!
The Heights Call Me From the Depths Trench Zaithandi Appearance: This girl is fairly large and still graceful looking at least somewhat, she's not as big as some but still a good looking trench. Her eyes are sealed shut as is the norm for a Trench Zaithandi and she has purple-blue fur, she's not the most well built for land travel but she can swim well. She has a thick short neck and large heavy head. Her main color is a deep dark almost black blue with purple leopard like spotting across her body. She has the normal one horn for a female Zaithandi. Personality: This girl is a very calm and sedate sort, she's not overly excitable or even all that eager to meet others. She is more likely to lay back and let things happen she's more keen on watching the world around her and this shows in that she doesn't talk much and allows the world to happen around her. She's very kind to those she cares for but that's few and far between, she'd be very happy just lounging about on the beach munching fish and spending time with her bonded.
Here to Learn and Teach Lake Male Zaithandi Speech Code: #449474 Appearance: This boy is a swirl of blues and greens making him hard to see in the water. He is a mid sized Zaithandi and he seems to be well built for speed as well as being able to handle movement on land. He is a rather average looking Zaithandi and his pair of horns are the typical ones. Personality: This boy is very difficult to offend, he doesn't get angry or even express it often, he would rather just let others work themselves into a dander before calmly stating something that shuts them down. He speaks very well and with proper grammar he doesn't have any issue with how to speak to others and he will do so. He does not care for others who speak down to him just because he is a Zaithandi does not mean he's stupid. He does have a temper once it is roused he is a terror to behold, for he does not only attack physically he will go all out mentally, he will tear you apart in your own head as well as your body. He's fully willing to use the muscles and body he was born with to tear you apart.
Don't Push the Little Lion Male Zaithandi Speech Code: #ad5b0a Appearance: This boy is a pale brown color to start with that is then overlaid by a riot of gold and russet and a variety of browns. He looks like a pile of leaves on a forest floor it makes him fairly easy to spot but he is still a fairly decently built Zaithandi. His horns are smallish but still capable. Personality: This boy is very much a timid thing prefering to stay back and watch others do things and more likely to hide from threats. He is not the one you want in a fight he's the one who needs protecting he'll hide and stay away from things that are scary. Which frankly is everything except his bonded even the other creatures his bonded shares are terrifying to this boy he is not one that you want to get around a huge crowd. He's more likely to stay in the water and way from danger.
The Heights Call Me From the Depths Trench Zaithandi - Edrei Here to Learn and Teach Lake Male Zaithandi - Hei Bohai Don't Push the Little Lion Male Zaithandi - Edrei
Zaithandi. The word wasn't familiar to him. He could safely assume that it was another creature, similar most likely to Fu Xing or He Shui and Xiuying in that it could form a connection with a person. Hei Bohai looked up from his book, shifting in his seat at his desk in the room he'd taken at the Weyr. (How lovely it was of them to offer him space despite knowing nothing about him. Only that he was displaced and clearly in need. He had no doubts that they could take care of themselves though, and this was only temporary.)
Speaking of Fu Xing though, the Nova came racing in through the propped open door, chased by He Shui. Hei Bohai! Hei Bohai! Did you hear? Did you hear? We should totally go! There's little ones and they're always so cute and I just wanna play with them in the water and if they like you--I don't know why they wouldn't like you though you're really quite likeable even though you say you aren't--then they can come home and we can play with them all the time! She bounced up onto his lap, flashing brightly three times and then putting her paw directly on his book. Let's goooo.
Hei Bohai sighed and grabbed his bookmark, shooing her off of the book in the process. "Fine. You," he pointed at He Shui, "stay here with Xiuying. Fu Xing, you get the fish if you want to bring one home so badly."
Okay! And just like that, she bounded away again.
It gave Hei Bohai just enough time to grab his pouch, check his ashes, and then lock He Shui and Xiuying in the room. Not that it would hold them, the buggers had figured out teleportation. Had always known it, although the locals called it betweening. Still, it would do a measure of good. He exited the Weyr, heading down towards the water front, and met Fu Xing along the way.
She was very proudly carrying a fish that she'd most likely pilfered from the kitchens.
He was going to have to pay for that.
He shook his head lightly and flicked his sleeves out of his way, walking at a brisk clip. It didn't take long to find Talith and Percival. Talith was especially hard to ignore by the water side. He was glad to see the other dragon wasn't nearby, he still didn't quite like that one.
Fu Xing leapt ahead, her fur getting caught in the breeze, and then settled down promptly on her haunches when she was close enough to the water to peer into it. Ooooo I'm so excited! Hei Bohai this is exciting!
"Yes, Fu Xing, it is," he said in exasperated fondness. "Talith. Percival. Good to see you again." He'd been practicing his manners since last they'd met.
Edrei had no idea what Zaithandi were when she heard the call for people to bond to them but Sylbstymm was happy to fill her in on some simple information, nodding his head towards the body of water they were currently taking a stroll around. Edrei sighed and shrugged her shoulders at the Caradras, gesturing to the water. "I don't exactly have my fishing pole on me- I don't know if I'd be able to shoot one with an arrow.." She lamented- with almost no time since the words left her mouth Tymbwaht shot past her and towards the water, swooping down over the surface and grabbing at something which she dropped at Edreis feet- a still flopping fish covered in bright yellow and black scales.
"Well, I suppose that works."
I help!
With her catch in hand Edrei made her way towards the source of the call with Sylbstymm at her side- Tymbwaht stayed back to do some fishing for her own belly- until they came upon Percival and his Dragon near the waters edge, seeing a glimpse of the Zaithandi babies peeking out before they slipped back into the water. "Hullo! 'Spose it was you two who called out, then?" She said, giving a friendly wave. Shrugging, Edrei made her way to the edge of the water and crouched down with the fish in one hand, now still.
Heights came out of the water and walked towards the pair she sniffed at them and tested their reactions to her eyeless nature, she was also watching them and studying the very fact they were there. Two was that all her siblings got? She wasn't happy about that but she didn't seem angry more curious. She was sure that this pair would get at least one of them but which of them? She sniffed at Hei Bohai but moved on fairly quickly to let her siblings have their turn at them.
She approached Edrei next and then sat cocking her head from side to side trying to assess the one who'd declared they had food. She looked at her curiously, What say you? She asked Edrei watching her carefully waiting to see how she responded to her.
Next was Learn He instead first approached Edrei then saw Trench was already conversing with her and moved to Hei Bohai he sat down and looked at him. You're not quite alive are you? Well alive like us that is, you are alive just not in the fleshy sense of the word. Learn said as he looked at him and watched the reaction of the man.
Edrei smiled as she saw the first poke out of the water, watching curiously as she sniffed the other person there before turning back to Edrei, seating herself before the large woman. Easing herself into a sitting position instead of crouching to get more comfortable, she watched as the other came up to her before turning towards Hei Bohai- was there a third in there she had seen, or was it just a trick of the light?
Either way, she turned her attention towards the eyeless Trench and held up the food a bit more. "Hm, what do I say? Other than asking if yer hungry?" She stopped and thought for the moment, missing the somewhat obvious that she was asking about her eyes- though in a moment it clicked.
"Oh, yer eyes? Or lack of, I suppose. I would wonder how you got around but you seem to be doin just fine in that regard, eh?" She shrugged, realizing after that the Zaithandi couldn't see her do it. "I'm pretty new to this place so.. didn't know if that was unusual, ya know?"
Hei Bohai turned his head as the small creatures started to come from the water. He had no outward reaction to Heights, he wasn't even that surprised by her lack of eyes. He had seen worse, and had seen people with less. She clearly had been born that way, so there was nothing to react to. Heights hadn't known anything else.
He blinked as she sniffed at him and then moved on. Fu Xing whined, watching her go, and Hei Bohai crouched down to stroke his fingers over her head. She leaned into it, a purr starting up in her chest, and Hei Bohai bit down his smile.
He lifted his head to look at Learn. Amusement flickered on the edges of his expression and he tipped his head. "It's not very wise to ask if someone is dead upon first meeting them," he said. He settled down to kneel. "But to answer your question, no. I am not alive."
Hei Bohai is a ghost! He doesn't have a heartbeat or breathe or anything! It's pretty neat actually. Fu Xing said. She perked her ears, watching Learn with bright eyes.
Trench looked at her or rather turned her head to be facing her to study the person before her. She was contemplating her carefully and deciding what to do in return of this comment, it was clear she was making a choice. Hungry am. She said to her as she sat on her haunches watching the person and sniffing at the food with her, she was seriously thinking of bonding to this one. Eyes have. As she said that her head swept the area basically stating that most others had eyes without too much effort.
Though she was going to make her choice now she knew that she wanted this one, this one did not seem bothered by her eyelesssness and that was meant to be. She then cut her mind off of speech as she Bonded to Edrei.
Bond! The Heights Call Me From the Depths Trench Zaithandi to Edrei
But should not one understand what they are talking to before speaking? Is that not wiser than just speaking? Learn asked as he studied the person and began thinking over all of what this stranger would say to him. Then he glanced at the water for a moment as the last one broke the surface. Learn was still thinking over if he would bond this one or not, he was sure that his sibling should get a choice between those there.
What is a Ghost? Learn asked as he looked at Hei Bohai and sat down even as his last sibling was hauling out of the water. He was learning about this humanoid that he may or may not Bond to. Lion looked around as he sat at the edge of the water watching the people, there were not many there. He was disappointed as he tried to mull over his choices, Trench had taken the woman and Learn was with the not living person. So he simply sat and waited to see if any would address him now that he was out of the water.
Edrei smiled as she felt the bond taking place; she at least recognized it from when Sylb and Tym had bonded with her, though it was still an usual thing.. She thought back to before she came here, raising her Chocobo from a chick to a strong enough adult to be able to carry her, as well as the other creatures she had taken care of as her mounts- but it was different, by far. None of them were intelligent like this, not even the little critters that she took into her care. Though at this thought she had a moment of guilt; now that she was gone, would they notice?
Her guildmates would obviously take care of them, so that wasn't a worry.. but she didn't like the idea that they might feel abandoned. As she contemplated this and used a small knife to cut the fish into smaller pieces for Trench, she glanced over and saw Lion watching her and the other.. holding up a chunk of the fish she waved it at him- trying to get his attention. She didn't want the last sibling to go without finding a bond, or at least some food if they decided they didn't want to go with her.
Having fed about half of the fish to her new bond, she set about thinking of a name for the eyeless girl..
"The wisest choice would be to observe and then decide how to speak," Hei Bohai said. He tipped his head, regarding Learn. "But of course, humans are more sensitive to questions such as that than other beings out there. I'm sure if you asked Fu Xing here if she was alive, she wouldn't care about the particulars."
Well, I'd be confused because OBVIOUSLY I'm alive but yeah. I wouldn't care. Fu Xing twitched her ears and her tail. She dropped the fish in Hei Bohai's lap, much to his apparently annoyance. But a ghost is a human who isn't alive anymore but still exists!
"That is... a gross understatement of the term," Hei Bohai said with a sigh.
You died, but you're here! And you're really powerful. You're a-- a-- Ghost King! Right? That's what they called you back at your old home?
"That is the closest approximation of the term yes. In essence, I died in a violent manner, and it meant I could not simply die and move on. I was stuck, and my desire for revenge against those who wronged me led to my gaining strength instead of fading away. So, I am a ghost, I am dead," Hei Bohai explained.
The Zaithandi in question listened to the words of this new person and made his choice as he watched Hei Bohai as he looked at the man finally making his choice. He was going to make sure he chose right and this was the right one! He then rubbed his head against Hei Bohai as best he could and bonded to him.
Bond! Hei Bohai to Here to Learn and Teach Lake Male Zaithandi
Lion still looked between them and sniffed the meat of Edrei's offering before turning his head to look at the other person like, 'you got anything?' He asked as he looked at the pair wondering if either would offer more to him.
Edrei watched Lion quietly, not doing much more than holding out the offering of food yet- she glanced over at the newly bonded trench, who was still chowing down on the food already given to her. Would she mind sharing a bond with a sibling? Edrei wasnt sure what the usual manner was but she didnt think there was anything wrong with it.. she also didnt want to seem greedy, though she supposed that was up to the creatures who they wanted to bond to. These ones seemed intelligent enough that they wouldnt be swayed just by food.
The little Zaithand didn't take too much more time as he finally approached the one speaking to him and sat down as he took the offered snack and then looked at his newly bonded humanoid. He was eager to make sure that his sibling didn't mind sharing with him.

He looked at the person and nodded he'd made the right choice and with that it was clear that the last of the Zaithandi were gone and it was time to move on. So the people who'd bonded got things and the last person was the one who'd found them, Percival didn't mind but now he had more pressing matters at hand. Personal ones so he left with Talith to go and figure that out leaving the people with their new cat fish things.
Edrei smiled warmly as the little golden boy took the food, nodding at him and looking between the two- she certainly hadn't expected to bring home two, but she was happy enough about it.
"Hmm, I think I'll call you Frydguld little one." She said with a nod, before getting ready to head off with her two new companions- thankfully she could easily carry them over land until they reached their destination.
